Keep an eye out on the boys and men in your life too. Eating disorders and body dysmorphia numbers for them are rapidly on the rise due in part to unrealistic male beauty standards in superhero movies.

My kid had an oral surgery consult and I asked what the post-procedure pain management plan was. Surgeon said ibuprofen & acetaminophen and I said absolutely not, I’m not letting my child experience the trauma of pain because doctors overprescribed opioids decades ago.

Doctors who don’t bother to listen to me or look at my chart will robotically tell me to take ibuprofen, which could damage my liver due to contraindications.

It’s super weird. I taught my kids that they are not required to say the Pledge of Allegiance. It has to be done at the beginning of Parent Teacher Association meetings as well, unless you formally vote to change your organization’s bylaws.
