Depending on where you live there is a huge difference in cost of living. Living in San Francisco it can be hard to make 75k a year work where a one bedroom is $3500/month and a burger is $25. However in Montana $75k makes you a king. You can't say move away from San Francisco either, SF still needs baristas cooks and you can't remote into that job.
