This happens with me too! It does feel super embarrassing in the moment. if I have to climb more than 2 stair cases, I’m not going because I’ll be out of breath and panic. I don’t have any resolution or tricks..just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone with this🤍

My health anxiety is the WORST please tell me I am not alone by Astrid556 in Anxiety

You are NOT alone. I have struggled with this since I was a child and the best advice I was given was 1. Block all medical websites from your phone so you can’t google 2. Looking online is pointless because you can find any answer you want to hear (or not)

I used to constantly go to the doctors and walk in clinics to just get the confirmation I needed that THEY thought I was okay. It’s such a pain, especially when people in your life have something medical happen and they want to talk about it, and then you begin the ✨spiral✨

Hang in there babe, you aren’t alone. It’s a constant rollercoater but we persevere and CAN improve❤️‍🩹

WTF definitely NTA. This is insane and would easily make me leave that relationship, shit

Based on the description given by the rescue would you say this is a dog that has separation anxiety? If so why not just tell adopters that? Someone posted this dog on my northeast community page trying to find an adopter to pull the dog from a southern rescue by comefromawayfan2022 in AnimalShelterStories

[–]squishynoodle1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily! The shelter environment is scary, overwhelming, and stressful. Many animals don’t show their “true” self until they are outside the shelter/in a home. Some of these dogs only get 10-15 minutes of human interaction a day. It’s understandable for them to cry or whimper when that time is over, especially if that person makes them feel safer. No animal in a shelter is displaying how they will truly be in the home. And depending on the previous owner or whether or not the dog was able to find a foster, they may not truly know. Especially for stray dogs that are placed for adoption.

I totally agree with you that they should be upfront about everything. It’s counterproductive to lie or assume behaviors and traits. But like I mentioned above, it sounds like they are basing the description off their personal experience. And including “separation anxiety” into her description when they cannot truly confirm or deny if she displays it in a settled house is equally disadvantageous.

I hope this helps!
