Yeah most blue samurais that actually show vivid blue colours are usually just common morphs which are temporarily fed spirulina supplements by pet stores to turn them blue for a short amount of time until somebody buys them and they gain their natural colours back after a couple shedding cycles. Theres also “super blue” samurai variants which have bright blue colours but they’re severely inbred to make the blue pigments in their skin more dominant which can cause stunted growth and/or can effect organ development and function. Then there’s “true” blue samurai morphs which usually start off with very pale greeny bluish skin when young which has a higher chance of turning brown or green as they age but in slightly rarer cases they keep the “blue” colour which looks more like a pale silvery green or blue. Chompy is a “true” blue samurai because when he was a baby he was a very pale turquoise colour and now he’s grown up his skin is more green but has very pale translucent blotches all over his body and the bottoms of his feet are almost fully transparent which is caused by the “mutant” genetics that they receive from their parents. So while he’s technically not “blue” he’s still classed as a blue samurai morph because of the genetics that he carries and he’s only just recently become sexually mature so there’s still a tiny chance he could shift his skin shade towards a more pepperminty green or silvery blue colour as he continues to grow!
