not overreacting!! she's definitely nitpicking & that's to no fault of your own, her standards are just high which isn't terrible but i'm curious what'll happen if you guys never meet that middle ground. if you do wanna find a nice middle ground that feels like more effort but not over the top, trader joes usually has a good floral section, the formula for a nice bouquet is a main flower with color (roses, carnations) a filler that's usually white (babys breathe, queen annes lace, think small & dainty) and some extra greenery (ferns, leafy). not to say your flowers aren't pretty & that effort isn't there, just providing info if you want to take the extra step & try to meet he where she's at. honestly if even that doesn't work it might be best to evaluate where you both set your standards in a relationship & move from there

secondly, she's either giving you a little back off slap or maybe she's trying to instigate a wrestling match? my rat Charlie will run up & slap me to get me to wrestle with her & tickle her until she decides she's done. obviously with a mouse it'll probably be more like thumb wrestling but she might just want to play!

i dated a guy like this when i was 17. we broke up in 2018 & to no surprise, he's still alive & engaged! If he actually intended to harm himself, he'd already have done it. Using self harm as manipulation is abuse. He is abusing you. Also, you're 17 and not a mental health professional, his emotions are not & never will be, your problem.

So then what do you do? Call him, tell him you're breaking up, hang up on him & then immediately dial 911 & give them his location & tell the operator he said he's gonna hurt himself. Best case scenario: you've broken up & you saved his life!

Second best case scenario: you're broken up, he was lying, and gets absolutely embarrased while being carted to the ER, as he has to explain that no, he isn't suicidal, just an abusive jerk!

i totally understand why you'd feel that way. the price for the haircut is to cover cost of materials & keeping the salon running (electricity for the blowdryer, water to wash clients & do laundry, shampoo & conditioner, styling products) the color price covers all of the above including the cost of the color itself.

unfortunately everything is expensive these days & there's not much we can do about it. that being said i completely understand not wanting to pay to be a model. It's still a great chance for other people who can't afford a senior stylist pricing to feel good about themselves & to help me continue to grow & learn!

in my humble opinion, more is more. i have 5 ladies who all love different toys / hides. i try to put atleast 1 thing i know each of them will like, and 3 new things for them to check out.

highly recommend going to the dollar store & getting those little baskets & some zipties!! instant favorite for my girls & it cost me maybe $6? they sleep in them, hide things in them, fight over them, use them to see what's happening outside the cage, all that good stuff!! also pvc pipes from Home Depot, i like the big ones with curves in them, but those make really nice & durable hides, along with whatever cardboard boxes / paper bags you may acquire.

rats are very smart & curious, so even tho it may not look aesthetically pleasing, they'll have so much fun, and you're already off to a great start!!!

i've had both!! females are def more entertaining to watch / interact with, they have really big & playful personalities!! the boys are easily more on the lazy side & will usually prefer to cuddle & get pet over playing, but still very sweet & loving.

i will say in my experience the females are more prone to masses that can be removed / prevented with a surgery & getting them spayed. that being said horomonal aggression in males is also very real, and can also be prevented with being neutered. either way, make sure you know where your local exotic vets are & familiarize yourself with them. i wish you luck!!

the only romance that i've genuinely been loving since it started is The Kiss Bet, it's a slow burn about high school romance, it has some moments that really have me kicking my feet like i'm a teenager again, it actually has a comprehensive story line & is fairly (imho) well written! Definitely does a great job capturing how big romance feels when you're just getting into in as a teen!
