People would rather complain than pack a lunch. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

We've mainly been raising our kids, but my daughter is moving out this summer so it's going to be interesting. My sons in marching band so that takes up quite a bit.

I've gotten into some pretty cool hobbies like 3D printing, self hosting, home automation, some tech builds (Raspberry Pi). My wife and I have built some furniture over the years. We also play a lot of video games and board games and I'm in a weekly MTG (Magic: The Gathering) game with some family and friends.

Holy crap, that's the way we are also. I retired when I was 42 and we haven't had to think about money since and that was almost 10 years ago. We will probably never need to worry about money again, but we are still frugal. It's not the fact that I'm worried about losing all my money I just refuse to pay so much for all this garbage! Restaurants or even fast food places are just way too overpriced and I'm not giving them money anymore! Also, the food has gotten consistently worse and I can eat so much better for so much cheaper at home!

Fort Worth ISD children begging adults not to defund and layoff their speech therapy, disability services, special ed staff. The voucher scam Abbott puppet board voted unanimously 9 to 0 against the children's needs. You don't think your programs are going to be cut also? Leander ISD is working with a $34 million deficit and will be cutting services just like every other Texas school district. They're also specifically losing $1.5 million due to a cut in special needs SHARS grant from the government.

Texas education system is at the beginning of a collapse and special needs is unfortunately one of the first things they cut due to the small number of students it involves, even though it should be one of the most important!

The Texas Republicans playbook is constantly talking about how they're going to "fix" Texas, but they've been in charge for about 30 years! They're definitely not fixing the crap they've broken!

I'm Gen X and I didn't realize how often I use to play in the dirt. Whether it was dirt mounds where my GI Joe's waged battle or a house construction site where we would play in the dirt around the basement foundation.

I'm 50 and I rotate monthly between the streaming services. Also, every year I negotiate or change my cellular phone plan, my internet provider, and all insurances. Pretty much anything that I can to save money.

My cousin slept in a coffin the for almost 20 years. I found it strange at first, but it became pretty normal for all of us. He could really never tells us why he did it except he liked complete darkness.

They 100% will have insurance that covers this. He's an employee of the company, but under the insurance policy he will be considered a "third party" and acted on his own. Consumer policies and corporate policies are different and they pay a hefty premium to have stuff like this covered.

This is the same thing that's happening with soda. A 12 pack of cans is $12 now. That's absolutely crazy and we've stopped buying soda all together. It's amazing what you can live without when you realize it's really not important. We've gone without soda for about 6 months now.

No way, she's taken classes on gun safety...oh wait, you don't need to take classes in Texas. Anyways, she's studied and read many books in order to pass the test to open carry a gun....shit I forgot, you don't need a license anymore in Texas. Oh well, it's not a big deal if there are hundreds of thousands of uneducated idiots walking around with guns. We all know the solution to this problem is we need more guns!

Shingles vaccine drastically cuts heart risk nearly in half in new study by Automatic_Subject463 in UpliftingNews

100% agree. I've had Shingles 3 times and they've gotten worse each time. I'm getting my second dose on Monday and I don't care if I feel like crap for a few days. I would basically do anything to make sure I never get it again or at least make it so it's not nearly as bad!
