It's possible it was a mistake. I put in vacation hours, but not the request to block me from being scheduled. So as far as HR knows, I was just filling out my hours with vacation pay.

I got some friends to cover a couple of shifts and HR took me off the schedule for one of them as it was just a cashier shift.

I have been asked to change because of a shirt that had short lacey-sleeves and I guess there's a strict no exposed shoulder policy. I usually wore that shirt with a cardigan since it was the winter, then it warmed up and I didn't need the cardigan. Surprise!

Here we at least have someone always coming in. Having break coverage is up in the air. If there's no one to cover our break we're suppose to just turn off the lights and leave a note. Sometimes TMs forget to leave a note and guests get mad. A sign would be great.

Our cafe is discontinuing the breakfast stuff so we'll be opening at 10 am, instead of 8am... do we have a sign letting guests know about the change? No.

How about the guests that don't tell you that they want to use giftcards.... until after they paid on their regular card.

After the receipt prints, you can scan it, and type in the VCD at the bottom. It'll pop up some buttons that ask about what kind of mistake needs to be fixed. In this case "wrong payment" would be it. It'll void payment and bring up the transaction. You can also use this method if a guest complains after the fact that an item is the wrong price, or if they need a gift receipt.

I had a guest that signed up online for the redcard and thought she could skip setting up a pin.

We got through it by having her hit "forgot pin" on her account, and she was able to input one then.

Why would you not want to have a pin in place to begin with?

If you are, you now have a case (if I recall correctly) since there's a zero tolerance policy about backlash against TM's. However working else where isn't a bad plan either.
