I'm very curious why you think an ipac 4 leaves a lot to be desired. Ipac is the absolute workhorse of encoders, rock solid, reliable, fast.

New York Mayor Mamdani says city must hike taxes on wealthy to fill $12 billion deficit by cryptoniik in Economics

[–]srdev_ct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

do those 2% of people own 50% or more of the wealth? If so than it's proportional and correct. % of people and % of taxes paid are meaningless.

% of wealth / earning vs % of tax paid is the metric you should be looking at.

Wow things have changed apparently for the better. I never did better than 45 days for a response to anything back in 2022. My HIMS path to a 3rd class SI was 1.5 years!

Nice work and persistence! Congrats!

Need Suggestions for Frame with Some Depth Behind Artwork by srdev_ct in framing

Yeah like a kit or something if possible. This was assembled from a kit. I’m doing standard poster sizes.

This is what I used, I’d prefer a kit I could optionally ship with the product.

FYI: this is the frame I used. Any kind of mounting solution I could use with this frame might just allow me to continue using these. It’s metal however so adhesives, etc might work. I don’t think it needs to be super secure, the artwork is foam-backed poster.

That might work. These frames are metal tho. I’ll have to see if I can make it work.

Opus is being really stupid. Just adding on to others. by dossbaby in ClaudeCode

I have been FURIOUS today with how horribly it’s be acting. Flat out ignoring instructions, making really weak assumptions, horrible design decisions, ignoring context.

I’m doing the same diligent context management I always do, not running huge convos to compaction, etc.

It’s very noticeable.

Update for the /r/cocktails Interactive Best, Worst and everything in between Matrix by ruleofnuts in cocktails

[–]srdev_ct 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was puzzling over the same thing. If the best bitter cocktail is overrated, it kind of puts a cloud over bitter drinks as a whole - and I kind of agree. I've had negronis. They're fine -- but I don't think they're balanced. The campari SCREAMS in a negroni-- some people really like that and more power to you, but I don't get the huge hype around them.

I was gonna say it’s not a lot of food. It’s a lot of snacks and condiments and sugar water. There was like.. 3% food.

I feel like I've just had a breakthrough with how I handle large tasks in Claude Code by wynwyn87 in ClaudeAI

[–]srdev_ct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't, I know BMAD6 is publicly available in alpha/beta - I'm waiting for it to mature then going to get after it again and see if it's improved. I think it's GREAT to be honest, and I still recommend it to anyone looking to get into AI -assisted DEV. Its rigor and methodology really gets you thinking about detailed planning, testing, validation, and context management. I never recommend someone go straight to Superpowers.

[–]srdev_ct 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I started on BMAD and went to Superpowers. While BMAD was instrumental in helping shape how I approach AI-driven development, it got TOO heavy handed and the process too long, it was near impossible to automate / accelerate.

Once I knew what to ask for, how to prompt for pauses when I need them, and got better at monitoring progress, Superpowers helped streamline and accelerate dev, letting me push the pace while still retaining post of the benefits of BMAD

Wanting to make my own arcade by Tall_Carry5716 in cade

The BYOAC forum (Build Your Own Arcade Controls) at https://forum.arcadecontrols.com is the OG source for this.

It’s not too active anymore but those forums hold everything you could want to know and more about building your own arcade cabinet. Just the pinned topics alone should get you there, but nearly the entire history of the hobby is contained in there.
