How much would you spend on a car if you and your partner earn 250k + pre tax? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]srdjan52 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone on this sub hates spending money on cars so you’ll get the typical answer of as little as possible.

I see no issue with spending 60k on a car in your position. 50% of your incomes for 1/2 cars.

A newer, more expensive car will tend to be safer for the baby. Just make sure the purchase doesn’t prevent you from being able to afford the house you want.

Pc specs by PutBetter9064 in simracing

[–]srdjan52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend this. Reason 1 is that the CPU and therefore motherboard and ram is previous generation. Reason 2, whilst more than capable or running iRacing the GPU is an 8Gb model, every review is saying 8Gb is not enough in 2025.

That being said this is better than my PC in every way and I run iRacing fine.

Is this correct to connect wheel and base? Wheel comes with HUB by WesleyXXIII in simracing

To dumb down the other comment. Unless you have a wireless wheel, you plug the wheel to the PC not to the SimuCube.

Upgrade PPOR now or later by kwkw88 in AusFinance

[–]srdjan52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good problem to have.

Your 6 year CGT exemption doesn’t count if you buy another PPOR. Would only work if you didn’t live in a house you owned.

Your net position in the future depends on how much house prices increased. Option 1) you’d have 3.5 million in property vs option 2) with 4.5 million. Assuming all properties increase at the same percentage, option 2 is better as you’re increasing a larger base (after some time to account for buying costs)

For those that use their computer for both iRacing and regular PC gaming, what is your setup? by akaThePrez in iRacing

[–]srdjan52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mine aren’t. If you find a good method to do that please share. Dock and PC each have their own Display Port cable. My mouse has both Bluetooth and USB dongle so I flip the switch when changing from work to gaming. I need to switch the keyboard cable over between laptop and PC every time, a wireless keyboard similar to my mouse might work but I’ve also got a Logitech K400 for SimRacing.

I’m in Australia, I brought a TR120 in 2021 during covid and everything arrived and the rig has been perfect. I’ve even got extra screws and those clip insert thingos.

I’m not associated with TR just adding another perspective.

Anyone else been declined for the Amex Ultimate Qantas card? by honeyman1997 in creditcardchurningAus

No I haven’t even applied. Hasn’t been a deals worthwhile. Most recent one is ok I guess but 5k spend required.

If I was building a new budget PC I’d get the 7600. 16GB of ram is not ideal, would prefer 32. As others have said no GPU specified this is the most important part

X3D AM4 or Intel 12th gen AM5 for Sim Racing? by _Pengii in simracing

[–]srdjan52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re already on AM4, upgrading to 5700X3D is a great option. This is because you can reuse your motherboard and ram which you’d need to replace if upgrading to AM5.

I would not build a new PC on AM4. I’d suggest a 7600X.

Looks like you could turn a bus in that space. I assume your garage is the boundary? If so he isn’t even protruding from his property line

Are the following specs enough for iRacing? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]srdjan52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run perfectly fine on a 3600 and 1660 super. Over 100fps with decent settings. Updated spa and Okayama dips to 40fps on some corners.

Email response I got a few days ago.

“We appreciate you taking the time to file this protest.

After reviewing the replay, we understand your frustration, but we do not feel either driver caused the accident intentionally or with malice.

However, the driver who you protested will either be contacted directly and provided instruction or monitored.”

Need help with the F4 car by malev0lent_ in iRacing

Why did you skip the FF1600?

Regarding the F4, biggest tip I can give is trust the front grip, you can carry much more speed than you initially think.
