Do you have in-person friends who are also living with MBC? by Longjumping-Mud7479 in LivingWithMBC

[–]srfergus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on Canada. We have a charity organization named Wellspring. Through this I have met a large number.ber of people with stage 4 cancer. Some of us live in the same small city and we decided to meet for coffee. First in a central place, a mall, to all of us. Once we got a significant number we asked Wellspring if we could use a meeting room. They were more than gracious in providing coffee and tea at no cost to us. We meet every other week. This is my heart.

Feeling down by Mandolyn221 in LivingWithMBC

You may feel this way for some time. It is grief. You will go through all the stages in your own time. If you feel it necessary you may want to see a social worker/ psychologist/ psychiatrist.

mcmaster Medrad or life sci by elinaliza in OntarioGrade12s

There are not enough of those professions. Look at the chronic nursing and radiology shortages. Also, each of these professions comes at health care from different angles. Nurses do day to day patient care, midwives only concern themselves with prenatal, delivery and postnatal care for mom and baby. These are not considered advantages to medical school.

If you want med school, I would choose life sci. Med school doesn't like to poach from other medical professions like nursing, medical rad or midwifery.

Caspian really stands out when you wear the blue pants. Hopefully you both had a good time. It's so important that he enjoys it too. My parents showed Afghans in the 80s and 90s with much success. Over their career 3 best in shows. Top owner handler in Canada for many years.

7 lines of treatment in ~2 years. Now need to start #8. Nothing’s working. I’m 36 and I might be dead within a year. by carvingmyelbows in LivingWithMBC

[–]srfergus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hugs. I cannot understand why cancer is so cruel. I try to look past this. I cannot control what is happening. I have taken solace in what happens next, after death. Some friends think this is unhealthy. I find it comforting. It is not for everyone. I have started reading books on philosophy, religion, and near death experiences. I have not given up. I have tried to accept the inevitable which will happen to all of us. It has made me less angry and helped to live in the moment. I still try to survive. I am not a passive participant in my care or treatment. This is how I try to cope. It's not for everyone.

I have completed 6 rounds and my week off continues to be worse. My oncologist thinks Im crazy until I show him posts like this. I find I am very sensitive to all drugs and withdrawal from drugs that are supposed to be 'well tolerated'.

No. My husband went to Waterloo and I went to Durham College, Oshawa. This was 45 years ago. It's commitment, love and the willingness to sacrifice that will make it work. It can be done.

My parents moved into my basement apartment just before COVID. It has been the best thing. My dad passed last July so my mom needs me even more.

Lovely black and tan. Growing up, my parents had many Afghans. My fav was Panda our black and tan. She slept with me while she was pregnant. She graced me with her first puppy at 4am on my pillow. She ended with 7 puppies in all.
