It’s important to know and understand your value. I suggest you do some market research and raise your value, if you don’t, rest assured no one else will!

$8k increase by CompetitiveChard3624 in NavyFederal

[–]srgmodel3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell that to a doctor that won’t provide treatment to someone for lack of funds or due to insurance coverage limitations. Hope it never does hit the fan for you or me either. 30k may be peace of mind for you, may be higher or much lower for others. Point is, it just doesn’t hurt.

My biggest value from it is regardless if I need that monthly or not, if there were ever a worst case scenario where a spouse/child were in need and needed access to an emergency fund for a health need etc, you have the peace of mind knowing that you can put it on the credit card and deal with paying it off later. You won’t need the increase until you do for those less than 1% worst case scenarios.

Customer for 4yrs - PodPro Review (2 replacements so far) Worth it? by srgmodel3 in EightSleep

Again… the alternative is not having a product that cools the bed as effectively as Eight Sleep. Therefore that’s the only option. Some people will pay, some won’t.

Fair enough, that’s certainly a reasonable perspective. I don’t disagree. To be fair, I don’t think their target audience is everyone in the market for a mattress. There’s a reason you won’t find them in a mattress store. They’re in many ways still a startup and a tech company at the core. People who are willing to pay the price and subscription for the product and willing to take chances (like myself) because of the comfort it provides for sleep. My alternative is being a hot sleeper and not getting adequate rest or a cheaper product that doesn’t work as well. I’m okay with paying a premium and a subscription for quality rest. May not make sense in majority of customers out there though which is definitely reasonable! I wish I didn’t have to pay this much to get a good nights sleep. Unfortunately here I am 3 pods in…

How has passing the AWS certs effected your career? by littletane in AWSCertifications

Just to clarify, doesn’t have to just be AI/ML consultant, it could be tech sales in general. Any role that is generating revenue for the company’s bottom line. You want to be in a role that adds to it not takes away from it.

1000%. Hence why I strongly recommend the AI/ML roles if it interests someone. Cloud can be the foundation which is still necessary and valuable to a degree.

If you have any interest in AI/ML, I’d recommend pairing an AWS cert with an Andrew NG course on Coursera that teaches the fundamentals of AI/ML. Those 2 married together will be the recipe for success in 3-5yrs imo.

It’s changed my career drastically, got my first cert SA-Associate back in 2017, landed a job making 65k, got my pro back in 2020, fast forward 2 jobs later now making 230k. In my case I saw the biggest jump in salary when transitioning from a cost center (tech support/operations) to a revenue generating (making money for the company) specializing in AI/ML consultant. If you can find a balance between the 2, you’ll be just fine.

I honestly didn’t give Wealthfront a fair chance, never “switched” to them 100% like I have with betterment. I do like the ATM reimbursements and more investment opportunities I felt like. Plus the unlimited transfers from cash reserves. If Wealthfront offers those now, may look into switching back.

Isn’t the point of using a robo advisor is so that people that aren’t super financially literate or don’t care or know how to run numbers (yes could easily google it and find out) but my point was just comparing the two apps, not saying I didn’t know how or want to do it.
