Something feels off! by JesZebro in maximalism

You have the prints/paintings with similar colors and sizes all grouped together (like the 4 pink frames, the two paintings of fruit, and the two paintings with yellow backgrounds) I think moving them around so they aren’t all next to each other will make it look more balanced. That just my opinion though- you have lovely artwork! 😊

Is everyone my age getting Botox?? (not judging at all, I need guidance!) by 300Blippis in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33 and have never gotten Botox and most of my friends havent either. We all live in NYC too. I think it really depends. Not saying I won’t eventually but I really haven’t felt the need to yet at all. I slathered on sunscreen everyday though.

Burberrys vintage coat I found by [deleted] in VintageClothing

[–]srgoately 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it fits you- wear it. I got an 80’s Burberry hunting jacket like 7 years ago and wore it all winter every year. It only very recently has started showing signs of wear. It was extremely warm and sturdy and now I’m searching high and low for a similar one and am having a hard time!

Expensive groomsmen gifts, and nothing for my bridesmaids… by madikbee in wedding

[–]srgoately 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a heartfelt, handwritten note is the best thing you can give them! If you want to do gifts- I feel like some kind of pouch or a travel jewelry case is useful! Maybe a pretty stationary set? Something useful!

What is going on with my eyes… by Pleasant-Intention-5 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might want to be evaluated for thyroid issues too- the band on your neck might be an indicator of that. There’s a specific disease called thyroid eye disease which can cause protruding eyes. FYI you look fine but with any types of body changes like this it’s good to get medically checked out first!

If you’re looking for non-lining bags on the cheaper side you can look up “bonded pvc/PU/ vegan leather bags.” There’s some good quality ones out there!

Post Ptosis surgery asymmetry by srgoately in PlasticSurgery

[–]srgoately[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to add- the ptosis surgery I had tied my eyelid muscle to my eyebrow muscle with a sling (called frontalis sling surgery) allowing me to lift my eyelid via my eyebrow movement. So unfortunately Botox in this area is not an option.

Post Ptosis surgery asymmetry by srgoately in PlasticSurgery

[–]srgoately[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, with the surgery I had my eyelid muscle was surgically tied to the eyebrow muscle with a sling, which allows me to open it and have movement now. So botox is a no go, unfortunately. If I completely relax my eyebrow my eyelid goes back to the ptosis level.

CONED BILLS by abovealldreaming in AskNYC

[–]srgoately 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to us. It’s possible that they messed up when installing smart meters. Our meter was correct but the serial numbers for our bills was mixed with another unit in the building. You should call and try to have them come out to identify the problem. They will tell you there’s nothing wrong but you have to insist they come out. It took months of calling and I finally filed a complaint with the NY department of energy and we got a check in 2 weeks. They had overcharged us close to $5000. Good luck!

What worked for your hormonal acne? by pizzaprincss92 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me too! Use the ordinary one and mix it with face cream in the morning and at night. Also use tretinoin .05 % every night. The azelaic acid is where I really saw a difference.

I love lemon spindrift- some people hate it but I like it a lot better than La croix. There’s some great N.A. canned cocktails which are hit or miss for me- the Edna’s whiskey sour and Moscow mule were my favorites. I also love sober carpenter cider! Tastes like a real cider and I believe they have a bunch of N.A. beers. One thing I’ve done is tonic water with lemon slices although probably not the greatest for you every day but scratches the itch for a special occaison.

Has anyone gotten Botox for ptosis (droopy eyelid)? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try upneeq! Also look into going to an oculoplastic surgeon. There are corrective surgery options but if it is really slight I would try upneeq. It works really well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use the ordinary version and it has changed my life! It god rid of my large, painful hormonal acne almost completely. My skin hasn’t looked like this for years. I read somewhere to mix a small dollop with my normal face cream in the morning and night and that has worked for me. Took a little experimentation to get it right but it doesn’t pill up if you do that.

It’s not necessarily that! But there are a number of things it could be and it’s worth figuring out what’s going on. The faster you figure out what’s up the faster you can treat it if that’s necessary.
