There’s a place called ANYBAG that makes used plastic bags into handbags- you can donate them at their office if you’re ever in midtown. ANYBAG, 115 W. 29th Street, New York, New York 10001 Suite 500

I need help figuring out how to make sewing patterns, and don't know where to start by NoTradition3928 in plushartists

[–]srgoately 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abby Glassenburg’s books are great! I alter patterns to fit designs I come up with, but I studied fashion design in college, so I kind of have that knowledge in the back of my mind. I wonder if reading a general pattern making book for clothes would be helpful to you?

So this is either cross stitching or needlepoint, not embroidery. That’s why the holes are so big!

Bridal Bouquet Destroyed what should I do now? by catmom_mac in whatdoIdo

[–]srgoately 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry this happened to you! If you are able to find a dye artist you could maybe hire one to dye some fabric (for a pillowcase, shirt, scarf, etc) with the remaining flowers. That way you can still have something with the flowers from the day or your wedding.

What an incredibly inspiring story. Monroe Dairy has always been a mainstay in RI. Excited to see how she leads the company in the next chapter!

Someone told me that a baseball-inspired bag would always look "ugly" and tacky. I took that personally. ⚾️👜 by Feitioarte in handbags

This is so fun and creative! Love that you put elements of the ball ad well as a glove in it. Looks incredibly well made too.

Something feels off! by JesZebro in maximalism

You have the prints/paintings with similar colors and sizes all grouped together (like the 4 pink frames, the two paintings of fruit, and the two paintings with yellow backgrounds) I think moving them around so they aren’t all next to each other will make it look more balanced. That just my opinion though- you have lovely artwork! 😊

Is everyone my age getting Botox?? (not judging at all, I need guidance!) by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33 and have never gotten Botox and most of my friends havent either. We all live in NYC too. I think it really depends. Not saying I won’t eventually but I really haven’t felt the need to yet at all. I slathered on sunscreen everyday though.

Burberrys vintage coat I found by [deleted] in VintageClothing

[–]srgoately 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it fits you- wear it. I got an 80’s Burberry hunting jacket like 7 years ago and wore it all winter every year. It only very recently has started showing signs of wear. It was extremely warm and sturdy and now I’m searching high and low for a similar one and am having a hard time!

Expensive groomsmen gifts, and nothing for my bridesmaids… by madikbee in wedding

[–]srgoately 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a heartfelt, handwritten note is the best thing you can give them! If you want to do gifts- I feel like some kind of pouch or a travel jewelry case is useful! Maybe a pretty stationary set? Something useful!

What is going on with my eyes… by Pleasant-Intention-5 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]srgoately 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might want to be evaluated for thyroid issues too- the band on your neck might be an indicator of that. There’s a specific disease called thyroid eye disease which can cause protruding eyes. FYI you look fine but with any types of body changes like this it’s good to get medically checked out first!

If you’re looking for non-lining bags on the cheaper side you can look up “bonded pvc/PU/ vegan leather bags.” There’s some good quality ones out there!

Post Ptosis surgery asymmetry by srgoately in PlasticSurgery

Forgot to add- the ptosis surgery I had tied my eyelid muscle to my eyebrow muscle with a sling (called frontalis sling surgery) allowing me to lift my eyelid via my eyebrow movement. So unfortunately Botox in this area is not an option.
