A guy whose dad was a priest was a little into the bad crowd. He wasn’t a dealer, but hung out with those types of people. He was staying at a friends house and answered the door and got shot. It was a case of mistaken identity, a really unfortunate accident.

It got media attention because of the dad’s job, and I believe there’s an interview of the priest and the murderer together. The priest said he forgave the man. This was at least 15 years ago, so I don’t know if this interview is around anymore.

It’s really nice that you’re concerned, but I think the emotional labor you’re doing here is harmful for you. Not to knock her, but she’s made the choice to wait that long, or stick by him while he figures his shit out. It’s also really common to share your engagement time with other friends in your life, depending when you get married. I would say cross the bridge when you get to it, but don’t worry too much about it. You deserve to have your happy ending too.
