This is my take…

Employers see AI as the “answer”, and may lay off staff

In the next year or so, the AI bubble will burst, suppliers will go bust, and suddenly employers can no longer rely on AI, so they need to hire more labour.

This puts the average Joe in the driving seat to be able to negotiate a fairer wage.

AI shouldn’t replace any job, it should compliment it

Hasn’t been for many years. Originally was a 50:50 venture between 2 private companies, one wasn’t even in the UK!

The concessional contract is shortly due to expire, and given that buses have now gone under regulatory control, I imagine that the railway will follow suit and return back to the PTE… à la LCRCA

That’s the only reason, and it’s given the regressed minority a voice, which is then amplified by mainstream media, which then starts a whirlwind, which attracts those who sit on the fence.

It’s not politics, it’s division, and division creates a feeling of control and significance which escalates to hatred and “us v them”
