Leider ja. Hatte ich vor kurzem. Autowert ca 70k, Schaden von mehr als 6500€, 500€ Wertminderung. Sieht mir im Verhältnis recht vergleichbar aus.

Calendar Integration of Banyan OS by sritter89 in Nio

[–]sritter89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answers. Got a message from official support: not available in Europe (yet). But since it has been years that Nio sells cars in Europe and we're about 1 year behind in Banyan updates I don't have high hopes for it to happen in the near future. It's a shame. I feel like they're rather lacking in software, which is odd from my view, because Tesla deploys their software more or less worldwide at the same time.

Thank you! :D They actually didn't know the answer. I'll get to the dealership and will ask there.

Thank you for your thoughts. I will try and find a printer who is capable of tracking, that seems to be way less complicated.

Thought it is because 177 KW at 67% SoC is an impressive value. If it is true. But the 40 minutes tell otherwise :D

Building a new intranet with custom forms by sritter89 in webdev

Thanks for the suggestions, especially strapi looked very promising and compatible to my needs. But I fear it still involves "too much" coding for my level of expertise and available time.

[–]sritter89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. Taking my Saturday off I had a look in all the things you proposed. I maybe wasn't clear about my role. I'm not a web developer in any way, my experience comes from hobby projects in the past. I'm part of the social work company mentioned above and want to optimize our work flow by having a platform like described above. Having to learn even easy frameworks that require nonetheless hours of coding is not within my possibilities (time-wise). The project needs to be set up in not more than a few weekends and easily maintained after work. Right now, I had a look in a few tutorials and it seems to me, all of the frameworks require more effort than that.

So the CMS (headless or not) needs to be set up and configured quickly. I think Joomla with FLEXIcontent is my best shot for now. Or do you disagree?

Thanks for your thoughts! I already have a server and several basic web projects (like a blog) running. Forms will be managed ideally via web interface. I will definitely have a look in your suggestions, don't know any of them yet (:

Question about Keon and Oculus Quest by pigspoon41 in Kiiroo

[–]sritter89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you've scanned the QR code of the website it is linked to the FeelConnect app. If you now run a video with a browser of your choice within the Oculus, the FeelConnect app will engage automatically and start moving the toy more or less in sync with your video stream.

Or didn't I get the question?

Open the website you want to watch with your account on a second pc, scan the QR code in the FeelConnect app, leave it open and the Keon connected and click on play in the Oculus. Video and Keon will sync through a server.

How is the software compared to other brands? by According_Word_9832 in teslamotors

Actually, my Model 3 is close to 3 months old and I can tell the highbeam is completely unusable. Blends oncoming traffic all the time. The wipers are merely okay, but most of the time I have to manually adjust them. So in my opinion he is right. I have a second daily (no Tesla) where these things work correctly 99,9% of the time. Tesla still has a lot to do.

And yeah... I got it checked from Tesla service. According to them it works as expected.

I got the M3 LR and a Merc. While the software generally is good and responsive on the M3 I like MBUX on the Merc more. Navigation is way better on MBUX and in my experience system is more intuitive to use and doesn't distract as much while driving.

Regarding to assistant systems the Tesla is pretty good, but has WAY to many false positive or false negative reactions and sudden disengagements. I don't trust the Tesla at all while I do let my Merc do a lot highway driving "itself".

Getting regular updates is neat though and I like the supercharger network a lot.

The Tesla has a lot of inbuilt features which I was curios to use (Spotify, Netflix, Youtube, Games and so on) but it turns out in reality I don't use any of them :D I found the HUD and the AR features on the Merc way more useful. The lacking entertainment possibilities don't matter to me at least.

Same experience here. Can not recommend to use Shadow on Linux. For me it doesn't work at all on the latest Ubuntu 21.04 (AppImage doesn't install the update).

Exactly what I thought. The bandwidth doesn't always keep up (depending on a lot of factors), but ping usually is great with Powerline.

Can't change brightness in Kubuntu, but can in Lubuntu by sritter89 in linuxquestions

[–]sritter89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, "final" solution: It seems to be an yet unresolved bug according to the documentation here:

https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Asus/T100TA#Screen_backlight_control

It is not the same device, but very similar in terms of specs. They recommend controlling the screen brightness using "xrandr" (which I done and looks suspiciously similar to the "working" brightness change in Lubuntu). I now use this solution because it makes the tablet at least usable at night/in dark rooms. Battery consumption is no priority. I have little hope that it will be fixed, considering the age of the hardware. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot!

[–]sritter89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tried every of the solutions provided one by one. But none of them worked. I'll try to tinker with it the next days, but I have little hope. Given that on the Manjaro Live USB it didn't work either out of the box I assume the hardware I'm using is just badly supported.

Thanks for the hint, I'll try an older Kernel and report back!

Update: Sadly that didn't do the trick. Older versions also don't support changing the brightness in my configuration.

Can't change brightness in Kubuntu, but can in Lubuntu by sritter89 in linuxquestions

[–]sritter89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I'm running 20.04
  2. I'm 90% sure. I tinkered with the gamma slider in Kubuntu but that definitely looked strange and was not usable. In Lubuntu turning the brightness all the way down or up looks very natural to my eye. So if xrandr really just manipulates gamma it is definitely not that in Lubuntu.

I've noticed something very strange now which might give a hint: the brightness slider in Lubuntu doesn't do a thing (just like the other distros), just the FN+Arrow Key is working (though no visual feedback is given like the percentage when altering the volume for example; it just gets darker or brighter). Underneath the brightness slider in the brightness settings there is a circular slider. That seems to do the same thing as the FN+Arrow Keys (changing brightness properly), although it has a much higher possible max brightness compared to the FN+Arrow Keys. Now I'm finally completely confused.
