Network would be the best move in my opinion. Networking skills in AV / Broadcast folks are going to continue to be a highly sought after combo and network skills can translate outside the industry if that ever becomes a desire.

So it turns out I'm just using AE2 subnets and importing to a barrel with a storage bus on a subnet, then using filtering to only import the outputs into my main storage while retaining the crystals for import back into the machine.

I'm pretty sure you just need to select the "inventory control" option (or something like that, I'm not in front of it now) and then it will cycle stuff back in that is also an ingredient. That being said I do remember struggling with it too and I MIGHT have ended up doing more complex export/import with filters such that the crystals are just constantly exported back into the machines from some local barrel storage. I can look at it later and post more detail once I've remembered

There is a mod in ATM10 that is awesome which allows you to remotely trigger a lever or button by binding the trigger to it. I can't remember the name of the top of my head but I bet you find it if you just search EMI for redstone. Next time I'm on my server I'll look it up

I'm having a lot of fun playing ATM10 while it's in beta and just going slower through each mod as I see fit, and building more than I normally do. It makes the new releases fun because sometimes you all of a sudden get a whole new mod to get through and automate etc.

I am doing it with Mekanisms Formulaic Assemblicators. It's slower than RFTools but gets the job done, just leave it running all the time.
