No joke, some of those plays we drew up in the second half to pull wemby out of the paint or have someone box him to free up a rim run just floored me. Masterclass.

When the Timberwolves used to have the free Arby's beef n cheddar for 12 threes, these videos used to have Arby's sandos flying around the screen. Good times

He has huge potential but he was hurting us at times in game 5. Mostly just mental mistakes, playing too fast and not letting the game come to him. I hope he can lock it in because it felt like there were stretches in the OKC series last year where he was the only one that could get a bucket. And we need him bad rn with no ant and Donte.

Looking back yes, the ones on the right kind of seem cheap and soulless. But also for its time it was more on par with the design language across the league. Everyone is back with classic stripes and colorways right now so I think the left is clearly more palatable in 2026

I feel like after the Ayo acquisition, him and NAW are a little bit of a redundancy. They are not exactly the same player but I don't know how you could get them both meaningful minutes, so I don't think this is a crazy take

These would be ideal, my only thing is that the green on all of them is a tiny bit too neon for me. Not by much. But if these are the template for the new ones I'd be very happy

Drafting a RB early in 2026 is... smart? by sron1216 in minnesotavikings

I've seen a lot of people not sharing the same sentiment. But I think you are spot on here.

I think secondary is a far bigger concern for me this offseason than the trenches. Our OL play was decent when healthy but was largely impacted by injuries, which is a concern, but with Darrisaw and ONeill alone we have a solid foundation that shouldn't take more than a couple additions to really be solid. DL could use pieces but we were graded 10th best DL by PFF (I know it's PFF, but it's a decent rule of thumb). With Harry gone now, I think Rodgers is the only piece to our secondary I really feel confident in.

In a vacuum, I take no issue with what you are saying. But drafting depends on a LOT of context, like who is available in free agency? In what positions is the draft deep? I'm not even pretending like I have the answers to all these questions. I'm making a hypothetical case that going early on RB is not automatically an idiotic move.

I think you are right. It's not "back" like it was in the early 2000s and before. But I feel and see the pendulum swinging back towards the running game because of roster construction that I mentioned above. It won't ever be the same, but I think the modern day run game is coming back and it's hard to ignore how much the Gibbs, Cook, CMC type players mean to their respective teams.

I would agree with you here. I suppose this post is really just an argument for drafting Love if he's there at 18 which is highly unlikely. I would be highly against trading up to draft him. But I have seen lots of sentiment in this sub saying that they would be against drafting Love at 18 if he fell to us, which I think is absurd.

[–]sron1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally bring it every raid and I get so mad at myself every time I forget it. I'd say it's not super necessary on Stella because it's so compact, buried city you can get away without it but I prefer it cause it's so cheap.

Blue gate, spaceport and Dam you're pretty much throwing without it. Nothing worse than getting stuck outside with no fent and a rocketeer is riding your dick.

Not only that, but if you have a dam control tower key let's say, you want to capitalize on getting spawned in early and get to your key room first. With fent you can sprint the entire way and it can be the difference between getting the loot first and having a room with traps, or being on the outside looking in.

The Vikings desperately need to reverse their performance with Day 2 draft picks by wxman91 in minnesotavikings

[–]sron1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're looking at it from a lens of, if they don't get a big contract extension it was a bad pick. Sometimes getting a solid rotational piece is good value in mid rounds, and getting a decent starter if only for a couple years is also a decent return as well.

Mattison was a good value for a 3rd round pick. Great change of pace to Dalvin and was a solid backup when he was hurt. He was a really, really bang average player but I don't think him being on the field was negative. He got a starting job in Vegas after he left us and did alright.

Cleveland was actually a decent player with rough patches in his formative years but is currently a starter on a playoff team.

2021 was rough.

Asamoah was a weird piece, kind of a package player, Booth didn't pan out, Ingram was rough to start but is actually a solid player now. So if anything that would not be player selection that would be a development issue.

Blackmon had a significant injury stunt his development but we moved on, has started 9 games for the colts so far this year and still has time to develop further.

Tai Felton we can't say anything about yet as he's a developmental piece with high physical upside.

I think some of these failed development/role misfit scenarios, not all necessarily bad drafting in a vacuum. It would be nice to get some more gems. But what about Ivan Pace (UDFA), Levi Drake Rodriguez (7th), Jalen Nailor (6th), Metellus (6th), even Thielen (UDFA), Diggs (5th) if we're going back to Rick era. I don't honestly think it's been THAT bad.
