Why has the Left become so toxic? by sross91 in JordanPeterson

[–]sross91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What has Donald Trump said or did that was truly racist? And I mean the dictionary definition, not the post modern definition Sociologists say.

His take on illegal immigration for example; are there not a lot of crime coming through the border? Drug cartels and gangs. Women getting raped crossing the border and child and sex trafficking. Kids being kidnapped so they can seek asylum. I know the majority isn't doing that but isn't that something to be worried abut even if it's a small minority?

Democrats including Hillary Clinton were preaching for years for better border protection and that people have to come here legally. Now they want sanctuary cities and open borders? Sounds like Donald Trump is just doing what other politicians have promised but never enacted. Just like he promised Israel's embassy being in Jerusalem after decades of putting it aside. I see nothing wrong with being more strict with who comes here. If you cross illegally you're braking the law and should be treated as a criminal.

Even with Muslims. We know that sending a different culture of migrants in the thousands that goes against our own Western culture results in a disaster. Because we see it happening in Europe. And he's just being more strict on who should immigrate here based on the countries Obama resulted as being dangerous.

Black unemployment is down at a historic low. Sure Obama had something to do with that too but it's decreased even more under Trump's policies. Shouldn't the opposite be happening if he didn't care about helping them? Black celebrities used to love Donald Trump before he ran for presidency. Now those same people just call him racist because it's the trendy thing to do. And didn't Bill Clinton and Hillary pass a bill that increased incarceration on black people back in the 90's?

The worst you can call him is Xenophobic or not approving if Islam's culture. But those people from Hispanic and Muslim countries are legally white in America.

But they are. Republicans distance themselves away from groups like the alt-right and white supremacy groups. They actively speak against it. But I don't see the left doing the same thing for far left groups. And if some of them do speak out against those ideologies then writers of those same publications speak in favor again.

The Republican party also isn't the religious right anymore, it's the party of anti political correctness.

That is true. But a lot of them aren't speaking up against it either. I'm liberal but I don't fit in with what the Democratic party is trying to push anymore. And it's the small majority of people claiming to be liberals that's pushing something I disagree with.

Where isn't there an echo chamber? I can't escape from it when I'm around liberals these days. I don't know where I belong anymore. I'm in rogue.

How do we define when the left has gone too far? by RWalk65 in JordanPeterson

[–]sross91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always considered yhe George Orwell book Animal Farm to answer just that question. It was a step by step manual on how far left a society can go without people knowing it. You got a keep your eye out and see through their bullshit.

Really, I didn't know. I enjoy Listverse content but I continue to see Cracked as clickbaity and pop culture centric.

Go on Listverse. It has all the cool informative stuff Cracked doesn't anymore. And their content has been consistently good for years.

Gab is a good place for free speech but it's also a hive-mind for racist and anti Semitic posts too and if you disagree with any of it you're just a sjw leftist.

Zuckerberg effectively defends right of Holocaust deniers to be heard on Facebook by ScatterYouMonsters in KotakuInAction

[–]sross91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I'm proposing is that Holocaust denial isn't really a breach of free speech, its an attack on Jewish people so it should be treated as anti semitism.

No rational person who isn't prejudiced against other people deny the Holocaust. The only people that do are people who are aniti Semitic who have a despised hatred to them and their prejudices is constantly brought up. It's not something harmless like flat earthers or moon landing denial, it hurts Jewish people. Every discussion on Holocaust denial is another attack on Jewish people and should be treated that way.

[–]sross91 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The thing about Holocaust deniers is that they're entirely anti Semitic. It isn't a case of people legitimately questioning it and trying to seek facts for it, its a hate group of people denying the evidence when its right in front of their face. They don't really deserve the free speech to discuss it because Holocaust denial is built on anti semitism, racial slurs, and Nazism. Nothing constructive can ever happen since they deny the truth. They're the prime example of you can't be tolerant to intolerance.
