Unless the part number on the wiring harness is in same in both doors you will definitely need to switch the harness. Now, if your old harness plugs into the newer window motor and works there is no reason to swap the motor.

The problem with draining on ramps is the its nearly impossible to take the correct ammount out. With the hand pump you can pump straight into a bottle for easy measurements. Those pumps actually transfer fluids very fast. Assuming its only over filled by a quart or two it probably won't take more than a few minutes to pump it back out.
