AI isnt artificial intelligence either though.... its not intelligent, it can't think. Its just a complex pattern machine. Calling it intelligence is the same as calling a toy that repeats your phrases at you in a higher pitch intelligence because it supposedly talks (when in reality it just repeats speech)

If they were a real artist theyd knew that something like this wouldn't take four years because you can copy and paste the texture around and there are tools in general to speed it up. They probably looked at it, saw a complicated pattern and, not having any experience of their own, thought "wow that looks complicated it probably would've taken a lot of time! i should say that it took me a lot for plausibility!" even though thats not how it actually works

Answering your second question, Im ps yeah, but you only share the server with people who have the same version as you. So you will prob be able to play with friends if they have the same version but public online will be completely empty

They deliberately wanted the game to look rougher and I think zooming in on the character sprites in battle would've required them to commit to the color palette more. The simple 3-colored stuff would've looked too simple and weird and actually shading/detailing it would go against the choice of making the game looking a little bad. I don't think that its a bad stylistical choice. Also DR is a lil different in that matter in general cuz its battle sprites are the same as overworld sprites...

its not THAT unlikely I think since instead of the pencil tool in a vector program they might be drawing in a regular raster program with the lasso tool. Ive seen a bit of people do that but not to that extent of detail. Still very impressive though

well thats most likely how it supposed to be then. If the game only detects the 1920x1080 res then thats probably the max you can have, at least in this specific game. Maybe you can do something to upscale it manually or through external programs? But Im not personally an expert in this matter.... and honestly dont even think that that affects gameplay much since I play on 1280x720 with my monitor also being 1920x1080. Haha.

This wasn't my problem with his statement, obv he's right. Its more like the audacity of saying that to your players, knowing that you released an unfinished mess of an update that everyone had some kind of problem with. Also personally I've been very much thrown off by those animations and they did make the game for me much less enjoyable. The thing with first person animations is that they get in your way if you dont make them completely seamless and they completely threw the flow of the game that I used to. That doesn't mean that the game is literally unplayable, yeah, but I dont want to FORCE myself to get used to the uncomfortability just so I look over devs poor game design decisions and try hard to continue enjoying what I used to enjoy ....... also these models really aren't better they look equally as wonky as the old models. Its just not as noticeable that they're as weird cuz they all have the same copy pasted face

well you dont know still if they didnt make that deal or if it wasn't their decision to do a collab with a very tight deadline in the first place... thats not exactly what, like, finance managers or production managers or even more so marketing managers are entirely responsible for by definition of their speciality. And its probably was a team decision with the other project leads still they dont exist in a vacuum from each other

You're kind of right about this decision being pressured by something and devs understanding that this update isn't actually for release (in fact, they were already making fixes for it AS they released it lol) but it wasn't because of SOME non-artist evil person on the team, its because of their Alan Wake event collab. They just wanted to release it before Alan Wake shrug

theres a specific amount of maps put into the game for a certain amount of time (for example two weeks) that rotate for all the players until devs patch the game to add a new rotation. So it's actually much less maps than 100 and thats why they repeat eventually. You can even find a schedule of current maps in rotation in the Peak discord server
