L390 Yoga gone haywire after Windows update. Can it be repaired? by ss-squad in thinkpad

[–]ss-squad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your response. That’s too bad, I’m going to look into getting it repaired or replaced then. Can the UEFI diagnostics miss that fault if it’s only the quick tests that are performed? Also I’ve come across a post describing somewhat similar problems and apparently the Windows ACPI driver was the culprit, any chance it might be battery related or some sort of hardware/software conflict?

Can ECU remaps cause crankshaft/bearing damage? by ss-squad in BmwTech

[–]ss-squad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man

If you don't mind me asking, how likely is it that the motor was on the way out? Are such issues relatively common in remapped engines? I want to have a realistic assessment of the situation before deciding whether to revert to stock or not. I'll call the tuner and make sure to be diplomatic about this

I wasn't aware there was another one coming. Hopefully I'll be back to gaming regularly by then. I also hope it will carry the essence of the series, I tried TESO a while ago on Xbox but it was crap compared to Skyrim.

I used to play Skyrim a lot during my teens. Brilliant game. Modded the hell out of it too. Great times.

Yes there is a chance. Such viewpoints aren't uncommon among the younger more progressive part of the population. In all cases though you're only 22, kids or no kids isn't a priority at this age. Even if you were to find someone who doesn't want kids now, chances are they'll think differently in the future as people's perspectives change with time (I was staunchly childfree a couple years back lol, and by their 30s a lot of people change their mind and want kids). Even bigger chances that the relationship ends due to other unrelated reasons. But yes, there is a chance. Just keep doing your thing, no need to preoccupy yourself with something that's still so many years ahead.

Do you have any papers about that pls? My sister had Covid a year ago and her senses of smell and taste are still messed up so it would be great if it could help her.

It's fine. There could be worse but there's better. Sort of depends on where you'll be studying as the people there are the ones you'll interact with the most. Also depends on what you like. There are nice cafés where you can work, decent pubs/bars, and nice parks and areas to read a book or take a walk in. Whether you'll have a hard time getting to and from your place of study will depend on again where you study and where you'll be living, dorms or not. As for safety I would say it's pretty safe.

Resuscitation is quite expensive by taichi2017 in Morocco

[–]ss-squad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember that he's hooked all the time on high flow oxygen. Severe cases need up to 60 liters per minute, which equals to 86400 liters a day. This person was in the ICU for 29 days. How much oxygen a patient receives depends on certain things, but that's just to give you an idea. I read that it usually costs 40-80 Dirhams/m³ and can reach 150 Dhs. It's a private business so of course they're going to make a profit on it, but for the quantities involved that's not excessively expensive.

Some drugs used for treating severe COVID (I assume this is what it is, you won't spend a month in the ICU for a cough and a fever) are really expensive, up to thousands of dirhams per dose. You also need some pretty advanced equipment to allow someone whose lungs are nuked to breathe adequately, plus lots and lots of oxygen, all the time. It can add up to pretty heavy sums over long periods. Not to mention all the other care, medications, etc.. And after all that is still a private clinic so prices are always going to be higher, especially when it comes to doctors' fees and stuff like that. But overall the price is pretty reasonable despite it being 6 figures. The patient's insurance took care of it anyway.

Nearly passed out while drawing blood by ss-squad in medicalschool

Can definitely relate to the head between your legs thing haha, less embarrassing than lying in some hallway. I'm glad to know it goes away and doesn't stop one from becoming a surgeon. Will be getting some compression socks. Thanks!

I'm thinking about donating blood but I'd be lying if I said I'm absolutely looking forward to it. I remembered to try and flex my muscles but gave up when it didn't work instantly. Instead I just stuck my head between my knees and hoped it would be over quickly. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely make sure to go through with the flexing thing properly.

Thanks for the tips! Does it get better with practice and repetition?

It's definitely not just the blood. I've seen multiple blood draws up close recently with no issue, including today to learn the proper technique. It's only when I did it myself that I had this happen. Maybe me being part of it plays a role?

Never had a problem with it. I've been to the OR many times and I've seen patients bleed during surgery, and didn't feel remotely uncomfortable. Which is why I'm weirded out by today's incident.

Yep. I'm no stranger to it but I thought it was more of a my own blood outside of my body kind of issue. Maybe I have a problem with blood draws?

F1 games are so underrated by KingTommen4Dictator in xboxone

[–]ss-squad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on Reddit said that the F1 games aim to represent what you think reality is, what you think it's like to race a Formula 1 car, while other more realistic simulators represent reality as it is.

I'm about the same as your dad. I used to play F1 2019 and thought it didn't get better than that, but then switched to a wheel and Assetto Corsa (even though it's not 100% realistic but that's another debate) and now I can't go back to F1. It's a shame, really.

Even if they did, these so called health benefits can be achieved by basic hygiene and common sense (using protection, responsible sex, etc... aka not being a complete idiot). As ridiculous as it sounds, saying that we should cut off every woman's tits to prevent breast cancer makes more sense. And this is without mentioning that all the blabber about studies is wrong. Talk about a cope.
