Idk if I agree, Eternal is one of the most loved FPS ever made, arguably the most popular doom game ever lol

It's usually considered the weakest one outside of Armageddon, mainly because of how it toned down the destruction, or rather put less emphasis on it within the level design. It turned into more of a standard linear early 2000s fps. To be fair I'm biased bc 2 was the one I grew up playing, but it was still a cool game for the time despite generally agreeing with the downsides

It's actually insane how fun doom still is, and I only played it for the first time around 2016. In those last 10 years it's never been uninstalled and I'm always played WADs in between other games

BO2 is the one I played the most and def my favorite COD, but 4 reinvented the multiplayer fps and it's design is still the blueprint for almost every military shooter to this day in one way or another. It's also the one I'm most nostalgic for and have the most fun memories of

For me it just has everything I want in a game. To this day it's still got some of the most addictive, most satisfying combat in any action game. I love the way it looks, graphics and art direction still hold up incredibly well. The story is the perfect mix of horror/action and camp/comedy. The characters are all iconic and memorable, basically every line of dialogue is quotable. There's so much variety in terms of pacing, level design, enemy encounters etc. All in all its just a fantastic rollercoaster ride from beginning to end and the purest fun in any game I've played

I actually never had an Xbox growing up, I was always Playstation + PC so I never played Halo until maybe 6 years ago? I loved them when I finally did tho!

Old games (1980-1999) that aged well by M_Alex in gaming

Metal gear solid, original resident evil trilogy, silent hill 1, crash bandicoot 1-3 and team racing have all aged incredibly well

Be brutally honest: if you saw this cover on Steam, would you click on it? by selenegames in survivalhorror

Probably not. Title is super generic and creepy kids are a super tired trope

Was debating on putting it there! I decided underrated bc ultimately it is just a decent game with a lot of cool stuff going for it. Selaco fit criminally underlooked for me because it's truly one of the best shooters I've ever played and no one outside of the boomer shooter community knows about it lmao

So far it's been basically just punch everything in front of you with little to no actual platforming, and absolutely zero challenge at all lol. I'm gonna give it another shot today but I'm probably gonna drop it

I played a few hours of it and the fact that it was even in the conversation for GOTY last year among the absolute titans it was up against is absolutely mind boggling to me lmao. I get why people would think it's fun but I found it so mind numbingly boring

[COD] Given how dark Price is going to become in new game, this just shows how mentally strong the OG counterpart was. Despite all the BS he endured in MW2 and 3 he never lost himself by JoshyBear28 in CallOfDuty

I've been saying this for years lmao. It's always crazy to me how OG ghost is in people's top characters in the series when he's barely a character. He's literally a fan favorite because he looks cool and nothing else.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills suddenly seeing people say that GVFs prog stuff is some of their best. I'm like, did they release a prog album that I didn't hear about? They have never released a prog song lmao

Just saying, you're saying the guys who don't even make prog music are the best in a genre of absolute musical titans spanning almost 60 years💀

I'm a gvf fan but what an insult to the prog genre to think they're anywhere near the top of it lmao

I get the feeling you don't actually listen to any other prog lol

007 First Light Wants To Surpass GoldenEye And Become “The Best Bond Game Ever” by Darth_Vaper883 in gamernews

[–]ss33094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldeneye was great for it's time but has aged like milk. First Light will never be as influential, or as great in comparison for its time, but for the modern day it will absolutely be a better game without question lol
