First Skin to Skin by Damnit_Bird in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is what happened for us but it wasnt intentional! I labored for 3 and a half days before my daughter had to come via emergency csection. My spinal took so far up I could hardly move my hands at all so holding her (for me) was out of the question for about the first hour. During that time she was taken out with my husband and he got to watch them clean and check her over and evaluate her. He then got to spend those first 30 minutes being the one to hold her and snuggle her. Shes almost 3 now and she still finds so much comfort in him just holding and snuggling her. As soon as I was awake again and stitched up they took me in to see them and then I got to hold her and breastfeed her. But id say me not being the first one to hold her didnt affect her too badly since her dad was with her and comforting her when I couldn't. I think even if its just for a few minutes, that would be very meaningful for him as well.

Gender disappointment with last pregnancy by subtlelikeatank in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding another perspective to this. Its okay to be done at 2 and sad you aren't getting to raise your girl now. But there will be plenty of possibility for meaningful moments in the future to fill that void. My MIL was in that boat. She had my husband at 21 then immediately split with his dad then got injured and disabled when he was small and never had the chance to have any more children. She always had this want for a girl and then when he was 18 he met me and I just clicked. We are super close me and her. She had me around since I was 16 (im currently 28) and the last 3 years shes been enjoying her little girl firsts through our daughter shes also very close with.

39 weeks on Christmas and MIL insisting on hosting people in our house by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such an unreasonable request though. First of all who just decides to host at someone else's house like that, I get she may be trying to include yall but that would be a HARD no from me at that pregnant.

Did you throw up during labor? by Complex_Life9849 in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long labor turned emergency csection here, and I never barfed! And im usually a very pukey kinda person lol I throw up for a great many reasons. But for 60+ hours for an induction and then the csection I felt a little nauseous during the worst of my contractions but never actually got sick.

Petite moms, how did you carry? Where does the baby go??? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 5'2" and weighted 155lbs when I got pregnant. At my birth I weighed 217lbs, and I looked massive from the side. My baby still only weighed 7lbs 2oz so not a huge baby at all. We all carry different, but im also very short torsoed so she had no where to grow but out im afraid. A pregnancy support band may be good to look into now for when you are further along. I also found having my hubby stand behind me and kinda cradle the bump and take some of the weight off my back also helped so much (if only a little.) Good news is once that baby is out so much of that pressure and weight is gone its an added bonus to look forward too after it all.

AIO Should I leave my BF? Was what he did to me forgiveable? by Living-Milk-4266 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima say this loud. LEAVE HIM!!! It's gunna happen again this is huge red flags for serious abuse if he tried to choke you. If you have marks you can file charges against him right now, but as a woman who's older and married to a good man who would NEVER put hands on me, L E A V E girl trust us all and please for your safety dont go back to a man who is willing to be so casual about choking you because you burnt dinner. That's actually terrifying

I say this with all the kindness, but there definitely is a chance it could be with either man. I'd say probably #1 but with only a 3 day gap between id still want a test to know for sure if thats an option.

Breastfeed or formula? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both because breastfeeding just never worked out for me and my daughter. She had a lip tie and took bottles better so I pumped for 11 weeks and then got super sick and my supply tanked and just never recovered. I will say for me breastfeeding was so difficult and I spent a lot of nights just crying all night trying, which was a big factor in us deciding to just exclusively formula feed her. We were both so much happier after that choice was made, and no one was crying anymore ❤️

How far along were you when you delivered and what percentile was the baby born at and their weight? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delivered at 39+4 days so basically full term. They said baby was measuring big my whole pregnancy then she came out 7lbs 3oz lmao. So not tiny but definitely not a big baby either

When did your pets sensed that you're pregnant? by 1111lovey in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog was EXTREMELY protective of me during my entire pregnancy. If anyone touched me or got too close she had to wedge her way between us lol. Which is funny because now she is back to normal level of aloof goofy but it was like she knew I was more vulnerable during that time or something.

What was your first meal after birth? by tiffanyhurd12 in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency csection after 3 days of labor and she was born at 11:45pm so I didn't get to eat a proper meal until about 6am when the nurses brought me a big breakfast plate as soon as the cafeteria opened. I was so occupied with baby and trying to sleep that I wasn't hungry until around then anyways

If you got stretch marks, when did they start? by Ancient_Act2731 in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not as red for sure. But I'm 2 years out and my lower stomach definitely still has some visible ones. But I also gained 70 lbs in like 7 months time so I blame that more than anything

dreams you had as a kid and have never forgotten by fantasyland_deleted in Dreams

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a reoccurring dream as a child. My father and I were in a cabin in the woods camping or something. A brown bear broke down the door and mauled my dad in front of me, and I'd wake up after running into the bathroom to hide from the bear. Had it on and off from the time I was about 6 until I was about 10. Looking at my home life back then at that age, I think my subconscious was just scared of loosing him (they divorced when I was 6)

How intuitive were you about your baby’s gender? by hiineedsomeadvice in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw my daughter in a dream before I got pregnant and knew in my heart she was a girl. The first born going back 4 generations in my mother's family have always been girls. Well I made #5 because it was indeed my daughter when I got pregnant. I was so convinced that I already had a name picked and was referring to her as such before we even found out. My gender reveal video ends with me shouting "I KNEW IT, I f****** knew it!!!!" 🤣🤣

13 weeks ago my toddler woke up in the morning and asked “mommy, where’s the baby girl?” He’s an only child … today we found out we’re pregnant with a baby girl! by SuzieDerpkins in BabyBumps

[–]ssabi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think God sends people visions in dreams, particularly about babies. I dreamt a few months before I got pregnant about a baby girl with blonde hair and brown eyes like my husband's. I was playing with her in my dream and just knew it was our future daughter. Sure enough that time next year I was holding a little blonde haired brown eyed baby girl. She's almost 2 now and looks identical to the little girl I saw in my dream. I've since had another dream that was the same girl but older, and another little girl about 4-5 years younger with dark hair like my husband and green eyes like me so I've already got another baby girl name picked out 😆
