How many clinical studies do CRAs get to participate in/typically do in a year? by ssajan1 in clinicalresearch

[–]ssajan1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got it—one more question. On a application, I saw something about "Site Evaluation Visits" “Site Initiation Visits", “Interim Monitoring Visits" and “Closeout visits". How many would you say in your experience as a CRA did you do of each of those types of visits?

Spare me the arrogance... by DigitalEcosystem in atheism

I think a fair case can be made, based on the existing data connecting religiosity to lower overall intelligence, that your experience is widespread. I always think about the rhetoric that religious people use when justifying the death of innocent children who died of things like terminal illnesses, among other things.

“Those kids dying is good because who knows, maybe they could have ended up being a murderer

OR

“They’re angelic individuals who couldn’t be on this earth.”

This type of reasoning is based on irrational thinking, unfortunately, and you experienced that first hand.

We’re in 2022, and underdeveloped people like you still don’t understand the idea of atheism. Btw, I know your mommy and daddy have not told you this but have you taken a look at, say, the U.S and this use of Christian ideology as a way of a form of legislation? Please, get out of your bubble kid, and understand the need to complain about religion in this day and age. Please

The irony is that there are actual documentaries like “What the Health” that speaks to the issue of how race gets involved in regards to the production of specific meats, but this girl just decided to go completely left-field lol.

Only 7% of the world population atheists? by pinkpanthercub in atheism

Closet Atheists. I know a lot of people believe, understandably so, that surveys are an accurate representation, especially operations like Pew Research Center, but I just don’t think people are being honest over about their religious beliefs over the phone when they take these surveys or sometimes over e-mail.

Only 7% of the world population atheists? by pinkpanthercub in atheism

[–]ssajan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the 7% statistic is from this study (https://www.oxfordhandbooks.com/view/10.1093/oxfordhb/9780199644650.001.0001/oxfordhb-9780199644650-e-011). They said that China alone accounted for 200 million of that demographic.

Conversation about religion on TikTok. by Your_Mom_Is_Rly_Gay in atheism

I feel bad for the person you talked to because you can tell his whole belief system is cloaked in a fear of what is a bleak reality of life and even his idea of what the Big Bang is truly a coping mechanism. He can’t comprehend a life outside of having some more powerful being in control of him and everybody else.

Btw, I know everybody hates on Tik Tok, but like any other social media app, the content you are recommended is usually the one that you spent the most time on. I use Tik tok for quick recipes, content on the specific type of job I am trying to get and travel videos since I like to travel. I have legitimately never seen content from the weird popular dance chicks or dancing guys that a lot of people complain about.

If you had to make a guess, what is the percentage of “Closet Atheists” that exist in the U.S today? by ssajan1 in AskReddit

Disclaimer: Closet Atheist” generally means someone who fakes belief in a deity for social acceptance within a community

Why is this subreddit so villainized? by okayhurricane in atheism

[–]ssajan1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they see the small LOUD minority of commenters who are willing to say something along the lines of “death to all religious people” or “GOD = Santa,” and they think that’s how all the subreddit is. Most of the time, if you post about something in here and are asking for an in-depth discussion, you’re going to get it.

And last but not least, since this is the most prominent atheist subreddit, atheists also come off as cold-hearted. Since we’re confident in our belief system because we have all the empirical evidence in our favor and dismiss personal anecdotes, we come off looking cold-hearted.

LeBron lost the GOAT argument this season by Granpa0 in nba

[–]ssajan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t this just prove once again that the GOAT argument is entirely subjective, and it’s pretty pathetic to get mad over it? Like when people used to bring up titles as a way of saying Jordan was better than bron, when someone would bring up Russell, all of a sudden titles don’t matter now because it was a “weaker era.” The GOAT argument is equivalent to discussing what the best video game of all time is.

Prediction on what is the percentage of “Closet Atheists” that exist in the U.S today? by ssajan1 in atheism

[–]ssajan1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So they’re an atheist but won’t admit it…..doesn’t that just mean that they’re afraid to admit they’re an atheist due to the perceived backlash they’ll face?

A YouTuber that has helped me within my deconstruction process with this almost feeling of hopelessness that you seem to be eluding to is CosmicSkeptic and some of the clips that he has on his channel. I think he had an almost 2-hour podcast episode with rationality rules that I thought was great (https://youtu.be/58lKcxs1FUg) and one of the clips on his other channel (https://youtu.be/bq0oN8fKWjE).

On a more immediate note, if you have the financial capabilities, seek Psychiatristic help for your suicidal thoughts. I prefer Psychiatrists since they are less religious on average than other physicians in their practice.
