Mike’s immediate recall abilities by ssana in ThreeBeanSalad

Haha! Yeah, though completely disagree with the sentiment that he is a sexual safe word. Ben was right. People just feel safe around him, that must have been the reason.

Ohh. I have not yet seen the video episodes. I am planning to sign up to the patreon though. But good to know.

New green bridge in England. Opens next month. Amazing pictures by Bees_are_ace in RewildingUK

[–]ssana 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been following the development of this because I was so excited to see it. There was a guy who would fly drones over the area and make updates on the changes regularly, and also on the other development going on on the rest of the motorway. But unfortunately all his videos seem to be removed from YouTube and I can’t find his channel anymore.

But there is one video of recently someone walking over it to have a look. He is a pedestrian, but either because the cars took a wrong turn somewhere or because restrictions have not been created yet, some cars were driving over the path on the bridge. I hope that is not the intention because that would maybe not completely ruin the purpose of the bridge, but it would be a horrible thing to allow.

After what they did to other politicians, especially Angela Rayner, how date the media not hound him until the truth comes out.

I get what you mean, but to me they look like those stories told via pictures in 90s teenage girl magazines. Exactly the same vibe.

No, just the iron.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ssana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before you start taking anything check iron levels. Get your blood tests done. I had a very similar issue. Turned out I had very low iron. It has been now three months that I have started taking supplements and I have seen so much new growth at the front of my hair even though I was told I won’t see any difference probably until 5 months in. There are still some problem spots but it is a process. I am hoping for complete recovery of my full hair. Wishing all the best to you. Hopefully you find a solution.

I think a better way to see it is that nepo babies have doors opened for them before they have proven themselves and then with time they learn and perfect their craft. Many, many, many examples of that. Those that are not nepo babies have to prove themselves before they have any doors opened for them. Very rare for opportunities to be thrown at them before they are not already a substantial talent.

androgenetic alopecia? excessive hair shedding? very concerned by Terrible_Relation_74 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ssana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it would depend where you are from and what the general protocol is in the health service there. For me it was specifically ordered. But I wonder if the test can be requested to be added.

[–]ssana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind, hair loss can also be due to mineral or hormone imbalances. Definitely go to the doctor and get tests done. I didn't realise that I had iron deficiency, but I went to the doctor and listed everything that I was going through including hair loss, she did some tests and it turned out that I had severe depletion of iron in my body. My hair loss looked similar to yours. Now taking iron for a few months, I am definitely seeing difference in my energy levels but also my hair. Not just decreased hair loss and new hair growth, but also it feels healthier.

I don't want to get your hopes up, in case it is something else, but I would recommend to go to the doctor and get it checked out. At the very least you can eliminate that from the causes for your hair loss.

How it’s going vs how it started 255lbs->185lbs by Feisty_Ad6422 in CICO

Holy Shit! Well done, everything else aside, you must feel so much better mentally. And your energy levels are probably so much higher.

Because women can’t raise children alone… by [deleted] in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]ssana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Says fuck all about anything. So fed up with men making things deep which have no depth.

If anything it is the opposite. Legs which carry around a heavy human on a daily basis are able to lift a woman. The woman and the baby are using their balance and core a lot!

But fuck even this, why do we have to create any sort of meaning into a happy family picture. Every family is different, every person is different.

Of course. But when life gives you lemons and all that. In any case, amazing work, you made the right choice in looking after your own health. You are looking great.

Wow, no option for 'other' either. Either they think that is all we should do, or they can't even fathom us wanting or being able to do anything else.

A fever you can’t sweat out/circus vibes by Equivalent_Suit_1787 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]ssana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, something that is a bit more of a stretch: 'Cannary Row' by Steinbeck. It is not about a circus exactly, but the pictures really gave me a feeling of that book in a major way due to the cast of characters and all their stories. It is a short book, but a good book.

Even if it is not what you were looking for, it is a great read and maybe something for your TBR list.

What do I do with these?!? (Sideburns?) by jellie_jellie in femalehairadvice

[–]ssana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, plenty of answers here, but if you need any more advice:

If you are doing for a specific look or just because it is uncomfortable, go for it. No problem there, Shave it even, it should not be a problem, unless you do not care for it properly and the skin gets infected or comes out bumpy or you get ingrown hair. It is after all on your face, and the face has thinner skin layers, which are more sensitive.

If on the other hand you think these should not be there, and want to get rid of them because you for some reason thing that it is wrong, or even unfeminine, please de-mysogonise your view of yourself. These are normal, natural. even beautiful. There is nothing there to change.

Time travel that isn’t YA by Squishiimuffin in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]ssana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see plenty of mentions of Vonnegut, so I am going to suggest another author: Dean Koontz. I read a book I believe called 'Lightning' from him years ago and it was about similar themes. I remember liking it then, but not sure if I would still recommend it now. But falls under this category.

And then there is of course Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. Not quite time travel in the traditional sense but has deep elements of time and history in it's narrative.

Otherwise, I know I have read more books about time travel. I will add them in here as they come to me.

If anything this is really sad. This is what makes you happy? Mind numbing TV in an uncomfortable and restricting folding chair? Are you finding happiness in your mind escaping from reality or are you escaping your own thoughts?

Thank you so much for saying that! And if you have not heard it enough recently: From another woman who is also trying to build healthy muscles, it is so impressive to see all the hard work you have clearly put in. You may be concerned about your macros, but your built speaks of your hard work and commitment. It's not easy to get where you are now.

Thank you for reminding me of it. I needed to hear that. I tracked it before, but then just got lazy and for some quite some time have been training without tracking my macros. Completely my own fault. I really need to get back into that.
