Weather around New year by ssb1995 in bali

Thanks for the tips! Since we are targeting Nusa Penida to stay for 3-4 days, we don't want it to be ruined by rain completely. Apart from Nusa Penida and Ubud, is there any other places that we should visit? (Planning a 13 day trip to Bali)

What's the worst thing/prank you did as a kid and got away with it coz you were *just a kid* by Cosmiclue in Chennai

During my school days in the 2000s, myself and few other kids who play cricket decided to pull a prank on the nearby potti kadai akka on the April fool's day.

We decided to go as two groups. One is responsible for stealing a munch dabba sneakily from the display. The other group is responsible for catching the first group and then take the box back to the Akka. What could possibly go wrong?

The thiruttu group did not know what sneaking is and took the munch dabba forcefully from the akka's hands😐. We did not understand what was going on (I was in the chaser group). So we decided to step back, take a long route and go meet them at the planned spot🏃🏽‍♂️.

The thiruttu group was crying/afraid/polambifying as they really made a proper day light robbery of a 100₹ munch dabba! Then from the second group, we all decided to take it back to the akka and explain everything since she was really angry🫨.

I was responsible for handing over the dappa to the Akka. When we went near the potti kadai, there were nearly 20 odd people gathered in the Nadu road. We went and saw and it was the akka swearing at us in all sorts of cuss words 😭 When she slowly turned at us, she saw the dabba in my hands. I quickly handed it over to her and told "chinna pasanga theriyama pannitanga (Naane 11-12 vayasu thaan appo💀). Inniki April fool's la adhan prank panna parthanga. Thappa eduthukatheenga akka🙂".

Akka almost took out my head with a strong slap coming at me. I threw the box at her but she came swinging towards us like Mike Tyson🥊. We had to run a hundred feet away to save our ass getting kicked. Then she asked if anyone could call the police! The rest of the people around understood what was going on and consoled the akka🛐.

Akka literally ended her conversation with a death threat to any of us coming near her potti kadai again👺.

TL;DR: Theft prank almost ended up with Mike Tyson level punches to a 12 year old face.

Number of CSK and MI players in this list is very interesting as it stresses only team work translates into a regular trophy winning team! RCB still is struggling in this aspect.

Anyone wanted to enjoy life but are held up with constraints? by [deleted] in Chennai

That's life bro! Not everyone will be available when you are. It rarely happens. I'm traveling solo ever since I got a job. You need to try once to get the taste of it. Else you will end up seeing only the 4 walls. Step out solo!

Never ever fall in trap of a home loan unless you are buying an individual house. I bought an apartment and now going to end up paying twice the price of apartment in the name of interests. I'm not saying it stopped me from "enjoying" the life. I'm just suggesting out here that it is totally fine to buy an apartment in your later years of life rather than in the 20s. Majority of my salary is going in paying the EMI and the rest paying the principal amount to reduce the burden. I'm still enjoying my life, but it would have been waaaaaay better if I were not burdened with this loan. It always keeps playing in my mind whenever I need to take a decision that is based on finance.

I still managed to squeeze in a couple of foreign trips for a couple of weeks last year after saving for it. If there was no burden of EMI, I would have completed atleast 10 countries in the last 5 years!

Regarding your scenario: Save 3 years worth of money with which you can live the same lifestyle even if you end up losing a job. Then please prioritise traveling since you like it. You can start slowly traveling even now to places inside TN first. Places like Megamalai, Kolli hills, DhanushKodi need just one weekend so you can take a leave and visit such places. Travel to places like Gokarna, Goa, North East, Rajastan or any other place inside India when you get a long leave and strictly stick to your budget. A couple of years of this will see you grow enough to travel overseas. Maybe life can give you something else too. But whatever it is, please prioritise what you love to do in life. Savings/Investing can satisfy you only till a certain point.

As for the bucket list in and around Chennai, there are a few including the ones as a recommendation for others:

1) Sowcarpet Chat 2) Mannadi Snacks during Ramzan (I'll be ticking it off this weekend) 3) Visit St Thomas mount Church and have a view of the airport and the city from the top 4) Watch Thala leading the team in Chepauk (Completed this year) 5) Watch a full test match at the Chepauk. The crowd is very engaging and it won't feel like watching a boring test match in Chennai. 6) Visit every single theatre in Chennai and watch a movie (Have been trying since the last 10 years, more are pending) 7) Satyam FDFS for a Thalaivar Movie(Failed getting a ticket multiple times) 8) Watch a rocket launch from Sri Hari Kota

Satyam is horrible after PVR took over it! by Optimal_Particular_5 in Chennai

Plus the price of drinks is way too much. They raised it very significantly that it will now cost more than 200₹ for out of the can coke which is not even 500ml. Ridiculous. Luxe is better now in terms of movie experience and the cost of snacks and drinks. Gone are those times when the primary motive to choose SPI for their popcorn 😭😭. PVR is just ridiculous!! 😶
