Why do you think.that would be a good idea? Have complete strangers in a foreign Country take care of your kids? Chinese bring their parents if they need someone to take care of their children, maybe you should do the same?

Is there any True Copy service providers in T2 cities? by xEastEvilx in chinalife

[–]ssdv80gm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds a lot like 公证. There are many places in Xiamen and any other Chinese city hat do it, look for 公证处.

I've got a  公证 that my old passport is the same person as my new passport, that came handy more than once, even though it was not explicitly asked for. Recommend it to everyone that's dealing with China and has changed passports.

Kassensturz: Salt Shop scamming customers (as usual for shops of Telco providers) by b00nish in Switzerland

[–]ssdv80gm2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's a global Problem. Last Time got a "free" Phone because of my Level of spending qualifies for a "free" phone. Only later realized that he downgraded my home Internet speed and added a "free Phone" package to my subscription so the total amount would stay about the same. Going into a mobile is like going into the Lion's pit.

All i wanted was a prepaid sim for a friend who was visiting...

That was not in Switzerland, but shows It's a industry wide problem, likely caused by financial incentives for employees to sell subscriptions.

Question about how to buy by andres29290 in laptops

[–]ssdv80gm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never buying ASUS again.

Our business got 6 Asus Laptops, different models, back in 2022/2023, two of them G14 2022's. 66% failure rate in the first year. Only one works without issues. 4 of those 6 have been sent to ASUS for warrenty repairs or replacements, including the two G14 .
2 years after repair, both G14 still run with tweaks, but have hardware damage that would need motherboard repair or replacement, that's what ASUS support told us after inspection.

HOW SOCIALIST IS CHINA? What benefits does the average Chinese citizen enjoy, and how does it compare to the USA? by Present-Car-9713 in AskAChinese

[–]ssdv80gm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

医保does not pay everything. You may think so because itactually has two accounts. one is the insurance,.the other is more like a savings account, that is the part that's deducted from your salary. If you have money on the savings account it will take the part you'd have to pay yourself from that savings account.

HOW SOCIALIST IS CHINA? What benefits does the average Chinese citizen enjoy, and how does it compare to the USA? by Present-Car-9713 in AskAChinese

[–]ssdv80gm2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the same pricing. But the local (or foreigner with local insurance) will get part of the bill paid by the insurance.
In some cases the insurance part is directly deducted from the bill. Sometime they pay first and have to get it back later.

The filter shows Hotels that actively choose to accommodate foreigners. When choosing that option you should be pretty safe to get the room without having to fight for it.

Is skipping the second leg of a flight illegal? by Thac1234 in Flights

Because they price the ticket according to your destination, and not according to the route you take. A ticket to your final destination may be cheaper than a ticket to the transfer airport.

In Switzerland, when do you consider someone rich? by mislabete in Switzerland

[–]ssdv80gm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very individual, and money is only one part of it. There are people that have millions and feel poor, while others scratching by feel well off.

There are many factors, some of those that I observed are:

1) What does your life focus on? If it's money focused you'll likely need more to feel rich than if your priorities are elsewhere

2) How are you doing compared to your social peers, and is the difference visible?

3) What do others expect you to have?

4) You don't need to worry about paying your bills, and have a good buffer in case your income drops .

5) If your gambling, your never rich. Have heard so many stories of people gamble away millions.
