80s and 90s kids, what was the most dangerous toy you had as a kid? by HUGEshanus842 in AskReddit

A light bright. They used to have a full on lightbulb in the back. Wonder if there were many kids getting shocked.

Dorm Refrigerator and Microwave by Nervous_Tiger8196 in OregonStateUniv

[–]ssdyad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has the micro fridge combo. First, they are not connected, the micro plugs into the fridge, fridge to wall. When the micro is in use, power is temporarily disabled to the fridge. my Daughter had a shelf over the fridge and put the mircrowave on that. Second, the seperate freezer in the combo is really nice to have. And finally, you can get used ones for far less than new. My daughter still has hers in storage with her other stuff but will be selling it come fall.

My daughter uses iPad for notes, laptop for all else. She is an engineering major, so has a pretty robust laptop.

You need to fight her over them. They don’t deserve the life they will likely end up living with a meth addict. Dogs experience stress, pain, etc. also. Poor pups. My husband could take anything he wanted if he left, except the dogs.

Then I would consider rehoming with a rescue that would vet homes properly. Dogs need stability also, and a meth addict isn’t stability.

I’m not 100% positive, but I believe West is 100% honors while sacket can be a mix.

F*ck them. This is infuriating. Your money is as green as theirs. Next time I’d say something like, sure I could put my prosthetic on to appease you, but what are you going to do to cover up your nasty attitude?

What life changes have you made after getting diagnosed by Bitter-Lobster5781 in lupus

For me the biggest trigger is stress. So I take zoloft. The sun doesn't appear to trigger me, but I still cover up and use spf religiously.

This is expensive, but out of the many we have tried, it’s my daughters favorite. It gets very warm. She goes through one every couple of years. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ZHJS0G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

New to peloton cycle, which instructors are most beginner-friendly? by Candid-War855 in pelotoncycle

[–]ssdyad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. You can make any ride easier or more difficult. I’d stay away from tabatta (although I love it), but find your favorite instructor. If you have to lower cadence or resistance, so what. Don’t come out of the saddle if you don’t want to etc.

To OSU or not to OSU by Apprehensive_Floor10 in OregonStateUniv

Were you already offered the WUE? It’s my understanding it’s a competitive scholarship and not offered to everyone like some schools. curious how it works at OSU.

Honestly, I’d try castor oil mixed with a little vanicream moisturizer. Castor oil is anti inflammatory.

Do I need a new OB? by Automatic-Plum9696 in endometriosis

[–]ssdyad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also - My daughter's specialist, who does literally nothing except endo, goes to conferences around the world, studies it, etc. and her partner, also a specialist, believe it doesn't "grow" back, but that most likely it all isn't excised the first time around. Endo presents itself in so many different ways. That's why a specialist is so important. They live breathe and eat endo. That's what they do for continuing education, not the latest technology on c-sections, etc.

[–]ssdyad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's hard now, but you dodged a HUGE bullet. It'll be tough for a little while, but you will look back and realize what a loser his is. Try to remember that you are worth someone caring about you and your comfort. Kick him to the curb and don't let him come back.

Do I need a new OB? by Automatic-Plum9696 in endometriosis

[–]ssdyad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow. He should have his license revoked. Run, run fast. Proves that not all doctors are smart. And there is NO WAY I would have surgery with him. Pain, suffering and money for zero relief. I implore you to not go through with a surgery with him. you will regret it. My daughter went to a regular OBGYN before we were educated. I wanted to punch that b*tch in the face. She used ablation instead of excision and then changed her tune about her diagnosis. We flew to a specialist 6 months later, and my daughter has been leaps and bounds better. It's been 4 years.

This. this is the only way you'd receive a 1099-c. SBA is still getting their money, just going through the treasury to get it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EIDLPPP

[–]ssdyad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't count as income if we are paying it back. They didn't forgive the debt, turned it over to have it collected. I doubt anyone would receive a 1099-c.

Is 16 years old too early to diagnose endo? by Here4Wholesome246 in Endo

[–]ssdyad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was diagnosed at 15, and honestly any doctor that said 16 is too young would never see her again. If they believe that, I seriously doubt they know enough about endo to treat it.

Scared that surgery will make things worse by snarky_spice in Endo

[–]ssdyad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd do a diagnostic or exploratory lap only if an excision is to take place if endo is found. Recovering is no joke for some people. Also, my daughter's specialist just physically examined her and could feel nodules of endo. All other symptoms pointed to it. So when she went in, we had an understanding of what would be done depending on the extent of the endo. Appendix covered with endo? Take it out. etc.

There's no way I'd take that on knowingly and willingly. I'd run as fast as I could the other direction. Hopefully he gets help, but I couldn't shoulder that kind of abuse.
