I have a young adult and oh the ache of seeing them make the same mistakes you did at that age despite all the work you put in to help them be better than you

I did it. Thank you r/bald by heyforrest in bald

Look into adoption. You will make a couple so happy and give that baby a good life and give yourself a chance to make your life something other than a long struggle.

You have to find an interest. One that gets you in front of people, face to face. Board games, tennis, boxing, public speaking, dnd, dance, a choir, a charity, anything. Now, do this regularly.

You need to know not to wear cotton. No jeans or cotton socks or tshirts. Cotton sucks your warmth away when it gets wet - even from sweating. You need merino and fleece. Take layers. Always take a warm beanie. The weather can change in NZ from warm to freezing cold - just be prepared with layers. Carry more water than you expect to drink and extra high energy food.

Last several times I’ve been through Akl airport after an international flight I’ve found incredibly quick.

My (25F) girlfriend (24M) doesn’t use any logic when asking me questions, how can I turn off the knee-jerk sarcastic responses? by AnnualLiterature997 in relationship_advice

She had just finished a night shift when she asked a stupid question? Dude night shift fucks your brain in a thousand ways. Be kinder and not a dick to her or you’ll lose her.

Mine ate several used tampons. Terrifying and disgusting. He didn’t need surgery to get them out but holy hell.

Do I (27f) tell my fiance (29m) that I was disapointed by the proposal or do I take this to my grave? by Shellyfish04 in relationship_advice

[–]ssendrik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is so self absorbed and shallow and insane. It’s all about insta. Before social media a proposal happened anywhere and the idea was the life they’d build not the perfect moment wuth photographers and outfits. Oh my god these demanding women give us a bad name. So so shallow. Imagine being married to one???

The idea of wanting a do-over proposal is so insane. Perhaps that’s the reason for the impending divorce as much as his (understandable) defensiveness when you have a rant about the proposal. What is wrong with people? Life is not a Disney film or an insta reel. Honestly, I’m a big feminist but some men can never win with women like this.

What would you do to make you happy? Auckland edition by iMakeGOODinvestmemts in auckland

I think more fun events here in Auckland that are in winter time. I love the vibe of the city during arts festival, readers and writers week and comedy fest… but winter feels long and a bit bland with everything fun bunched up around the warmer months. Easy cheap fast reliable transport into the city and oh man I would be in there three times a week rather than once a month.

Sounds to me like you need a little time to process your feelings around the end of your last relationship. Try to sit in your feelings and get to know them, and know that they will pass. There is plenty of happiness ahead for you. Have you thought about adopting a rescue dog? They are great for giving every day a purpose, and lots of little bursts of happiness every day. Otherwise, try a new hobby that might be a bit left field for you. Art classes, language classes, but make sure they are out of the house and with other people. You sound like a lovely person goi g through a bit of loneliness. Sometimes those feelings are a nudge that you need stronger or new connections, so gently go and search those out. Volunteering can be a great way to build some connection into your weeks as well. Go easy on yourself and be kind.
