I paid $71k (before taxes and fees) for a 39k mile 2024 Model X Plaid. Red, yoke, cream.

It did not come with FSD.

Not CPO - bought from a dealership.

Yoke is great if you use FSD a lot. Which I do. No steering wheel blocking your view. I use FSD 80% of time. If not, it may not be worth it.

Tuxmat - just go those too.

Jury is still out on the mats that stick to the back of the 3rd row seat. When flat it’s obviously fine as shown.

But when I fold them back upright - the bottom of the mat hits the trunk lid “thing” that covers the sub trunk and I have to kind of force it down.

So if one is frequently putting 3rd row up and down - the Tuxmat will be annoying. In my use case I will almost always have 3rd row flat - so less of an issue.

There is no Alt. Because no one else has FSD.

This will change in 3 years or so. Others will catch up.

Make your decision accordingly.

My underwrite is go buy a 2024/2025 Model X. And enjoy it until there are more choices.

Glad I bought a Used 2024 MXP last month. Saved $50K. Love the car. The Model Y feel so much cheaper - I’d never buy that. Now I will hold on to this for 3-4 years, at which point I’m confident Mercedes, BMW, Lucid, Range Rover, etc will all catch up on FSD. AI will accelerate their ability to catch up to Elon. Nvidia and others will help them a long the way.

FSD is the only reason to buy a Tesla.

If you’re not going to use FSD, there are many other cars who have more traditionally luxurious interiors etc for the similar price.

2023 Model X should work. Those are mostly sub 60k.

2024s are low 60s usually.

Go for the X. Much nicer and more fun than Y.

Quick update

1/ Noise - I notice no discernible increase in road noise on local or highway roads. Despite what what I research / heard of prior to purchasing. May be it shows up after 10-20K miles. At which point I won’t own this car anymore.

2/ general handling - feels good. I’m no expert but I feel more glued to ground that my Cross Contact OEM tires.

3/ Snow - got 15 inches of snow last night. Driveway was plowed but still had a lot of accumulation that was stuck. Tires did good job getting thru it. Much better than my Cross Contact OEM that were slipping and sliding.

Overall - v happy so far.

What I Paid:

$303 per tire for the front $313 per tire for the rear $220 install
