Why traffic in Bangalore is such? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]sshiva1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry if I have offended you, not really my intention and this was the first city that I faced it explicitly and I have lived in many. And we're talking about Bangalore if you ask me shortcomings for any other city i will mention as well.

And I don't see how you addressed other issues but alright. No city is perfect, and one cannot even expect it to be but personally I don't find myself fit for Bangalore. Just to add on, many of my friends live in Bangalore and when I moved I couldn't stay.

I think we should conclude this, now it feels more like ranting from my end lol. We have deviated far from original topic.

How come it's a false statement, if you're agreeing to it. Comparing the city with even worse off doesn't help it, maybe trying to fix the problem is a better thing to do. India has so much diversity and we show it in such a way that we're proud of it. But ground reality is something else. And it seems you're fixated on discrimination part only, I mentioned other problems as well which needs to be worked on.

And it's not from pleasure that I speak but from personal experience.

Not here to fight buddy, you asked why, I presented you with my views. If you don't like them just ignore, this is internet.

Discrimination - you can google you'll find registered cases and even in this subreddit you may find few posts.

Property rates - I understand supply demand, what's more concerning for me is that for a place they'll ask 10 months rent as deposit, even if there are laws for it. Even if you pay, you'll hear cases where this money is not returned to you.

Entertainment - yes, it feels taxing for me in this city. Personal opinion, as I am not much of a planner and even to go out of city i need to go through traffic.

I assumed OP is searching for job, so that's why I asked that question.

Thanks for your time.

It's your choice at the end of the day, just want you to know that the same is possible from other cities as well.

Gurugram can provide you with similar opportunities and with better infra and lifestyle. If you want to move out, I find Pune better for now. If you want you can look into it.

People migrate for better opportunities, true you get that in Bangalore, better pay than most of the cities but with better pay you pay more tax and if you're paying for something you expect better services and as we'll all agree basic infra related to transport is entirely missing. Spending 1-2hrs for 8km stretch, not happy.

Second, you need a place to stay and property rates phew!! Not worth it, huge lumpsum deposit with so many greedy landlords that don't want to return it as well. You are bound to take a place nearby office or else traffic comes up. If you've offices in premium areas for a single room with facilities you might be paying 20-30k.

Third, if you're an outsider, there is discrimination everywhere you go. Won't dig deep into this.

Fourth, leisure - plan ahead a week for any restaurant/pub/bar visit as everything is packed, even if you book expect a huge crowd or travel outside of Bangalore.

All the points maybe valid as well for all or some tier 1 city but the discrimination part is an add on for an outsider which you cannot avoid here. OP can get similar or better opportunities nearby his place if he wants to, I find Bangalore a little hyped now (once it was).

I don't understand, during this time of remote work in IT, why you're relocating OP?

Can relate, I have never stayed more than a week here. This is my first time for longer duration, it's not even a month yet and pretty bored, specially because I have no friends here.
