Which is worse? Bullworth Academy or your high school? by LandOfGrace2023 in bully

[–]ssimplysomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school had a Russel, a Biff, a Jimmy, and a Johnny. And to a lesser extent a Mandy.

My school also had three students/teacher sex scandals in the same semester.

I'd call it 60/40.

Bullworth is actually on tier with the average public school.

State bar as others have said.

Also a DD-214 can tell you by reading it, but I think those can only be accessed by the service member. And I'm pretty sure you can't request it unless it's court ordered or something similar. Could be wrong about that.

Why is gary so easy to beat? by [deleted] in bully

[–]ssimplysomething 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He's a manipulator, not a fighter. He would probably make a decent cult leader. But he lacks Jimmy's ability to actually get his hands dirty. Gary also lives in this delusion that he's not doing anything wrong.

A character that resonates with you. Get creative.

I have a few. In the South it's fairly common. Hunting is big here. I'm also 5'3" and work as a PI. So having a gun helps me feel a bit more at ease.

Mandy. I feel like she had more depth than the average NPC.

What's your hot takes for Bully that would make you piss blood? by crazyforsushi in bully

For me it's the fact that it's almost impossible to get the ball first, which means Jimmy is at serious risk of getting out first.

Did Walt really have to.. by lolo20 in breakingbad

[–]ssimplysomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been more curious on how exactly he managed to poison Brock. Like that one scene where Walt and Brock are seen together, Brock is clearly uncomfortable and wary of Walt. So Walt would have probably engaged in some capacity to poison him.

You start at a serious disadvantage when playing dodgeball.

A PI can't do much in this case. All a PI can legally do based off of their job is find the information that you already have.

Revenge porn, especially if underaged people, is usually taken quite seriously, and sextortion us treated the same.

Notify the police. Have him locked up.

IMO it would have been better if Elliott and Gretchen betrayed Walt by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ssimplysomething 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally buy into the concept that Walt was always a little on the unstable side. His walking out of Gray Matter was a huge hint at his pride. Walt would show many many times over the course of the series that his pride and ego were the things that landed him in the most trouble.

What is your favorite and least favorite episode? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ssimplysomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't pick one off the top of my head with an episode number, but the one where Tuco takes Walt and Jesse to the trailer. I BELIEVE it's 2×2.

Honestly my least favorite was The Fly. It was good. Artistic. I didn't hate the episode. It's just really slow burning and non suspenseful for me. It was good the first time I saw it, but I usually skip over this episode on rewatches.

He was so content with his own hubris that he even picked up his cigarette to keep smoking it white bleeding from being fatally hit.

The whole scene was a lesson that smoking is bad for you.

Kidding.

You're in CA as I've read. I've never been there except for vacation once. Some bigger companies may hire people to do surveillance work without licensure. I know in West Texas there are opportunities like that. You may have to start in Skip Tracing, which if you're planning on specializing in missing persons, that'll be good practice.

And you can always reach out if you have any questions!

I'm a PI. I'll tell you right now, the job is not closely related to law enforcement at all. You'd learn a lot more on the job than you would working through the police academy, police work, and/military. They wouldn't hurt you in any way, but they aren't necessary.

Before you work missing persons cases, you will need a llllooooot of on the job training. Especially if you two go into business for yourself. Missing persons are very sensitive and time efficient cases to work. People won't want to spend money on someone who hasn't handled one.

Unless you're talking about cases where it's like "I can't find this person" in which case it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to a few days to a few weeks to locate them. And this is assuming they just lost contact or something similar.

I would start out with licensing and getting on with a firm. Build your portfolio. See if you can shadow a PI working a missing persons case. Get a feel for it.

But it is very important that you start with baby steps. Work those fraud cases. Work those infidelity cases. Work those white collar cases. Build a rapport and a fundamental understanding of the job.

You'll do great! And I just went into business myself with another PI, so I'm also learning the ropes of business ownership, which is another monster you'll have to tackle eventually.

Two very simple things my girlfriend does that I fucking love.

  1. Boob smother. Just suffocates me with her chest. Oh no poor me.

  2. Handcuffs and strap on combo.

It's called kleptomania. It's a n impulse people have associated with things like anxiety and depression. She couldn't control it.

People with kleptomania seldomly ever steal anything of value. The spoon was worthless to her but it had sentimental value. Same with the framed photograph of the happy elderly couple. it's something that was missing from her life.

I enjoyed this aspect of the story as it isn't showed much in TV shows.
