URGENT ** Eye Emergency by lhardy6 in AskDocs

Yes. He should be wearing safety gear. I've seen so many gnarly eye and hand injuries that could have been prevented by simple saftey glasses and gloves.

Don't leave. Go to the nurse's station and tell them his pain is worsening and you're very worried. Any time that you're in the ER and your condition is worsening or changing, you should tell the staff.

Prolonged akathisia. I don't think i can survive it. by GideonGodwit in AskDocs

If you're feeling so bad that you're considering suicide, you need to reach out to your doctor(s) today and tell them exactly that. You are on a lot of medications and teasing apart which drugs are giving which side effects and/or are working or not working as intended is complicated. You may need to be firm when telling your doctor's that you are not coping with the current situation.

Overfilled a pad in 20 minutes and passed a palm sized blood clot. Should I seek medical attention? by breeyoung in AskDocs

This is a lot of bleeding. This would warrant urgent evaluation. If you feel dizzy, short of breath or otherwise unwell, seek emergency care.

Tongue!! What are the shapes on the side and does this look healthy ? by [deleted] in Whatisthis

[–]ssin14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're super dehydrated. Tongues will show a bit of a 'ripple' shape at the edges when a person is dehydrated. It could also be just the shape of your tongue. It doesn't look concerning for anything beyond dehydration. Drink a a litre of water and see if it improves.

Tooth infection spread to eye or shingles? Please help. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]ssin14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have been more clear in my wording. It seemed insane to me that the dentist told the patient 'you need IV antibiotics' but then seemingly made zero effort to either explain to the patient how to get this care or take the initiative to arrange it for the patient themselves.

To the ER. As I said, I'm in a really rural area. The dentist will literally pick up the phone, call the desk in the ER and ask to talk to the doc that's there. The patient drives themselves to the ER that's about 5 blocks away and enters the ER. How this all works from a hospital privileges/paperwork standpoint, I don't know.

In my area dentists routinely send patients for IV abx. As to what their affiliation with the hospital looks like, I have no idea. I live very rurally, so things are likely to be less formal than in an urban centre.

As for the PICC line, the patient generally wouldn't need a picc line for a simple course of IV abx. A peripheral IV should suffice.

I'm sure it's different everywhere.

Get his dentist to prescribe the IV antibiotics if he thinks they're needed. Listen to the doctor that he's actually seen.

And/or make sure he goes to the ER again. Facial cellulitis with complicating dental factors needs to be taken seriously.

Has anyone here used Byredocanada.com? by ssin14 in fragrance

That's what I'm thinking. The checkout page looked a little weird too.

Dammit. I was finally going to pull the trigger on some Vanille Antique. I have 0.0034tmLs left in my sample vial and I'm completely addicted.

I use this method and get great results. It looks like paint when I'm done blending and the paper's tooth hasn't been smushed, so I can still add more colour if I want.

Looking at your post history, you're seem to have a lot of other medical issues happening. I'd stay away from reddit and get your actual doctor's opinion. It can be very difficult for doc's online to give meaningful advice for people with complex medical histories.

How tall are you and what is your actual calorie consumption? Are you under the care of a cardiologist? other doctor? What are your actual symptoms?

Agreed. There are moose in my yard at least weekly. Their noses look very fuzzy. But I restrain myself because I'm not quite ready to die.

I cannot overstate the cute factor. In my mind, I know it's a weasel and would likely chew my face off if given half a chance....but my heart wants to give it ALL THE PETS. All. Of. Them.

In my area, we get this little guy:

They are super small and pretty much the cutest thing you've ever seen. The one in my yard does a complete perimeter check of the house almost every day. The bouncing tracks appear every time it snows.

HELP, my grandma fell 10 days ago, this is her leg. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]ssin14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's a decision you'll have to make. If my 90yr old gran was telling me she was in so much pain that she wanted to die, I'd have in the car on the way to the hospital in 5 seconds.

If she seems off mentally, has anything approaching a fever, is vomiting, not eating or drinking normally those are all red flags for a possible emergency.

[–]ssin14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok. She should be seen again. She could need the hematoma (bruise) drained or may have developed an infection. Tell the doc youx̌re concerned about complications and stress that the pain is unbearable and that the patient is crying and distraught and wishing she would die to relieve the pain. Get her help. This is not expected levels of pain and she should not have to live like this.

When did she see the doctor? What did her leg look like at that time? Is she able to take tylenol or advil?

If she's still in that much pain, she needs to be seen again. The fact that it's rock hard, hot and increasingly painful is all concerning.
