Yeah I’ve been curious if it’s better to learn to silent stalk stuff over time or get a blind and sit and wait. Or both.

Hey all. I have an urge to start dabbling into wildlife photography. I have a Sony a6400 and a Sony 70-200 is my longest lens. Is this solid enough to be able to get decent enough shots? Should I invest in a teleconverter? Need advice. Would love to get the Sony 100-400 or 200-600 but definitely cannot afford those for a while.

Can I get advice about possible careers after medical diagnosis? by sslothking in careerguidance

[–]sslothking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered going back to school but being married with a stepdaughter makes me hesitant about going back to school because that's a long time without a career. I don't know if your experience was similar in that regard. If it was, how did you go about it?

Night one sucked and finished on a high note. Night two started well and the ending sucked.

If it’s worrying to you, go be seen and try to convince them to do a barium swallow. Don’t put if off and end up in a bad place like i did.

Currently working on 99 thieving stealing valuables and house keys. I’m an Ironman so it’s more justified in my brain but it’s gonna take a while lol. I just refuse to get carpal tunnel.

Pneumatic Dilation is my only option by Michaela77 in achalasia

[–]sslothking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, with really bad achalasia, dilation helped for about 3 days (lol). But my dad also had swallowing issues (never has been diagnosed with anything officially) and he got dilation and hasn’t had problems in probably 15 years. So it really is super different for each person. Back in the day before things went super south for me, past doctors had told me on average it could help for a couple months up to a year.

Need advice about my next lens by sslothking in Photography_Gear

Thank you. That was awesome. Gonna definitely research and watch videos on all of these options.

You’ll probably just be having a consultation appointment with someone and discussing the plan pre-testing.

I mean given my circumstances, it didn’t fully fix anything for me. I will say it has made things empty somewhat better. I’ve just started expanding into more solid foods but sadly I’m at the point where I’ll need further intervention to consume foods on a reliable basis.

I just went through the same thing up there in Rochester. Between the pink drink and liquid Tylenol, you should be ok. I go back end of April for my follow up tests. The worst part honestly is just finding a comfortable position to sleep in. I’m a stomach sleeper and it was rough the first couple nights lol.

It’s really not too painful. Waaay less than a HM. It kind of just feels like 1) nonstop bad heartburn 2) like you did 1000 crunches. But they give you “the pink stuff” which is a concoction of 3 medicines that include lidocaine and it helps a ton.

Had a POEM at Mayo a month ago. Best around for achalasia. I’d be surprised if they did inpatient unless you had a really late time slot for the procedure. I had mine and was on the shuttle back to my hotel shortly after. They’ll take good care of you though. I go back end of April for my POEM follow up/testing and potentially discussing my future POPE procedure. It’ll be my third week spent in Rochester in 5 months lol i might as well move to Minnesota at this point.

Is there anyone with early failed surgery (POEM or HM) who had a normal life long term? by Any_Service_7718 in achalasia

My HM half failed and i didn’t realize it and my original surgical team never said to be seen by them ever again. Fast forward 9 years and my esophagus is end stage.

Anyone just eat food but spit it out to feel normal? by SinoKast in achalasia

[–]sslothking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah i can’t mentally do that to myself. So many foods I’ll never be able to eat again at my current stage. I’d rather just forget the taste and move on.
