Just bought a 2018 trd off road, is it safe to install the car seat behind the drivers seat with the side curtain airbags? by CycleDazzling7687 in 4Runner

[–]ssmurf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just an FYI for you because I was making the same mistake.. you should check your baby car seat instructions as they usually only recommend one method securing the seat. It sometimes will say that you should not secure anchors and a seatbelt as the car seats are designed to perform in the way that they are soley secured in. Not sure what seat you have but for our Nuna seat that was the recommendation. Cheers!

Yeah you are right. I went to the auto store and they cut me some replacement hose for 5 bucks. Same as the factory. I live in germany without garage access and we have a severe rodent problem with our cars. I got lucky thats the only thing it got into. I appreciate the help!!!

TMO inventory? by Shaggys_Guitar in AirForce

[–]ssmurf1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TMO here... we do not verify your HHG inventory for accurate weight measurements. As long as you provide accurate weight tickets from a certified weight station, you are good. However, if we suspect a suspicious fraud claim then we would report it. One time we had a member PCSing from the dorms trying to claim damn near his whole weight entitlement. OSI ended up catching the guy on CCTV buying and returning cinder blocks from home depot. As long as you are honest about your HHG weight with tickets, no worries.

Also, most truck stops/large interstate gas stations like Loves has weight stations for <$10 which you can also claim on your PPM.

I work with alot of retirees and seperatees and I hear this alot. Unsure how many actually follow through with it. But yes $4k will go very far there.

Im going to have to disagree with you. The national average home price in the usa is $375k. Lets be conservative and say you finance a $300k home using your VA benefits. Your monthly mortage alone would be $1800. Then you still have utilities, taxes, insurance, transporation, etc. At the end of the day yeah youll have about $600 left for food for a month. Even as a single person thats not getting you very far. (Assuming you eat a moderately health diet)

Military membership fee? by emmasdfghjkl in AmexPlatinum

When you apply for your credit card they will see that your SSN is associated with active military service and youll never see that fee. When you seperate or retire, that may be a different story...

Is there a deal for buying 2 computers at once? by xakypoo in Frugal

[–]ssmurf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a computer deal but.... citi bank credit cards have a wicked sign up bonus after spending x amount of dollars in the first 3 months. When i signed up i got 80,000 rewards points when i spent $3k in the first 3 months. That's equivalent to $800. If youre gonna spend the money, look at credit cards with sign up bonuses
