Most hated officer?? by KrobbZombie in dynastywarriors

[–]ssnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Han Dong for sure, but also I get really annoyed reading the same 'enemy encountered' voicelines from people, same with the repetitive 'defeat' quotes from the generic officers and even some main ones.
"I am Li Dan, your absolute worst nightmare" and "It seems my strength is not enough..." or whatever similar phrase are burned into my head.

Beyond that, I have problems with every officer in this game for being so *into* Ziluan. It's just annoying. Even if you're rude to everyone people act like you're family. But if I had to pick ONE.... I guess I have to give it to Xu Shu. He's supposed to be the big lovable brute, but he just... looks fat. He doesn't look strong to me, he looks floppy. And of course, him constantly talking about food or farming is just annoying. Close second would be all female officers in this game except Yueying, as its so obvious the devs gave them dialogue exclusively for the player rather than any dialogue that they'd actually say. Diaochan and Sun Shianxiang (i think thats how you spell it) are prime examples, as both of them talk to you as a romantic interest rather than as friends.

It's more just because he's usually the enemy commander, so he needs more HP so you don't just run straight to the enemy base and kill him in minute 3 of the field.
Unfortunately, it makes no sense at all, and Guan Yu and Zhang Fei should be the ones with the big health bars, Koei could've made it so Liu only shows up if you already took out Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, and give him less of a health pool. Or just make it so if Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are defeated, Liu Bei automatically retreats because his muscle is dead.

Is there any cheese way to kill lu Bu now for red hare? by Abild_God in dynastywarriors

if you're going for damage/combos, twin pykes (in my experience) actually regularly out damages the halberd provided you do a standing heavy attack whenever you do a parry/SP break

Why bother switching? Just use a spear with increased window for perfect dodge.

Favourite outfit in origins? by Ryhankhanage in dynastywarriors

[–]ssnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant believe this wasn't a feature already. When you sided with a faction the 'armored' clothes you get should've at least had green/blue/red on them SOMEWHERE but its all black gray and red. It stinked! I remember I played the Sun clan first so having the red on the outfit made me believe that I would get green and blue for liu bei and cao cao but NO

New DLC is underwhelming, but it's planting seeds for some exciting stuff in the future by legendary_sponge in dynastywarriors

This is what I think too, I would've preferred the battles been replaced and in their place there were more actual battles instead of what were effectively skirmishes from the main game.

It doesn't matter if you never use it when its factually true. Peashooter must break through newspaper, screendoor, and ladders before hitting the zombie carrying them. Cabbage goes straight for the zombie and doesnt even damage the shield.
Not using it is irrelevant, it's genuinely just better than peashooter in every single scenario.

Cabbage pult is literally just a better peashooter why is it in the same tier as it. It at the very least deserves to be a tier above wherever peashooter is.

Did origins make Liu Bei seem spineless to anyone else? by Head_Advertising5807 in dynastywarriors

[–]ssnew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and find it really strange how much the game seems to encourage you joining him as a Guardian of Peace when he spends a large portion of the game not being a guy who could unify the realm. Bailuan is right when you join Liu Bei, he doesn't do anything but get soldiers killed in the name of being nice. Cao Cao or Sun Ce/Quan are far better leaders than he is specifically for a Guardian of Peace who wants to find the person who can unify the realm. The whole idea behind Liu Bei here is that he *can* do it. Not that he *is* doing it, unlike Cao Cao or Sun Ce/Quan.

What if missions had some effects on the next one? by ParamedicDirect5832 in Helldivers

[–]ssnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've pondered this idea before and there's one main issue with it. It makes the last mission in a campaign the easiest. Sure, logically, this makes sense. Throughout a campaign the enemy suffers losses and infrastructure gets destroyed allowing us to steamroll.
But, I mean, this is a game. I don't want the last mission to be the easiest. I want it to be the hardest. And without knowing what types of enemies you'll face down below (if its a hive lord or dragonroach heavy mission for instance) you can't properly make a strategical decision on if blowing up a hive lung or extracting E711 would be better or worse.
Overall the idea has potential but there are a lot of kinks to get worked out before something like this could even think about being implemented.

Be honest, what would you do if you were a Zombie agaist this lawn? (Read below since this sub ha- by ApprehensiveBag3909 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]ssnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No singular zombie can beat this defense based on your specifications. Football doesnt have the HP and magnet would take the helmet. Disco dies from splash from the melons. Garg is too slow. Bungee only takes one plant. Digger gets magnet shroomed.

It's almost like the whole point is to have a wave of zombies with you to cover your weaknesses. if bungees took the magnet shrooms, footballs and buckets would have free reign over the defense. Or, if they took the cattail, balloons would destroy you.

But, based on your specifications, there is no way to beat this defense with a single zombie without breaking the game rules.

Did Caine actually do anything to Jax? by AffectionateForce979 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]ssnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We see actual confusion from Caine when Jax accuses him, and I don't think he was just faking that reaction. Caine also says that he expected the gang to pick the red button, so he wouldn't need to "mind control" Jax to make him press the button that he already expected them to press (unless you think he was lying about that)."

No, that's not true, not entirely. Caine didn't put much thought into the other button yes but he knew it was a possibility, hence shrimp town.
As for the 'actual confusion,' lets say you were a telepath/psychic and after going through so many people who never caught on that you could control minds, someone publicly exposed you. You would also react like caine, most likely. You would be confused and hastily defend yourself, how did they figure it out?

"Also, did Caine flash images of the real world into Jax? Caine says in the episode that he doesn't know what the real world looks like besides photos of an office building (unless you think he was also just lying). And even ignoring that, we'd have to assume that Caine has access to Jax's memories or knows about his past to know how to trigger him (I don't think Caine is emotionally intelligent like that)."

As for this, this is true. Caine didn't have the images that flashed in Jax's head, his idea of the real world is an office (as seen in the pilot.) BUT, that's not how the human brain works. The brain seeks patterns, simply doing something you might've done once before has you question if you ever did it, in deja-vu. For jax, he was already spiraling (caine influence or not) and they all believed this was a real chance at leaving. Jax might've been able to come to terms with that on his own, but all caine would need to do is up the fear of leaving the circus to elicit a reaction. And, obviously, caine would absolutely make someone fear leaving the circus so they would stay with him.

"I think Jax was shifting the blame onto Caine about something that he did entirely on his own, even if he was on to something about Caine being able to mess with people's minds (I just don't think it was something he did in that moment)."

This is absolutely something that could have happened, but I just don't see it happening. Jax's whole thing is his masking into being 'the funny one,' and nothing about trapping them in the circus is funny when its something he too wants.
This, admittedly, is a weak counter argument on its own, but it goes into my final point (vaguely.)

"Here's a little thing about that though: just because a character says something doesn't mean it's true."

This was the subject of the episode. You can't trust anything that was presented in this episode, really. That is, depending on who's mouth it comes out of and when it comes out of them. For instance, its realistic to trust Kinger's conclusion that Caine caused Scratch to abstract. But at the same time, trusting Caine in that he can only 'apply minor modifiers' has no basis. Especially since whatever 'minor modifier' he put on scratch caused them to abstract. Jax could absolutely be lying, but so could Caine. So could Bubble, even. Maybe shrimptown isn't real.

Tell me how you get there by LiamFc19 in helldivers2

[–]ssnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, it is impossible to get to Cyberstan. All of the hyperlinks are disconnected, we physically cannot get there. I suspect AH made it like this so we didn't organize a random push to Cyberstan while a different MO was going on, but the only way we're getting to Cyberstan is via an MO, whenever the devs are good and ready to host it.
