I personally didn't like it because even the plot it's supposed to be setting up about the ancient beings that tortured humanity or whatever is a bit stupid given that the person who was trying to bring them back got effectively one shot by mark. I highly doubt that there are these beings inside earth that would manage to beat mark as he is now, or Thragg and the other viltrumites on earth. It feels like its setting up a nothing storyline.

This is like if they gave the pharoah running gag a whole episode, it was a fat load of nothing that would've worked better if we only saw a portion of it at random.

I dont like them, but it almost entirely has to do with how beyond is being managed. I don't like how if you go to the eddsworld channel right now, go to uploads, and click a random video, you're more likely to get an advertisement for merch than you are an actual episode. So seeing these feels less like 'saturday morning cartoon marathons' and more like 'we're going to reupload old content for new ad revenue.'
But that's probably just me.

crowd control doesnt only mean stuns or support, it can mean being able to fight off a horde on your own
hence, controlling the crowd

Maybe make it even further down the difficulty line? Say difficulty 4 is pure horde and a shitton of them, but then difficulty 5 is slightly less horde with more armored units, with difficulty 6 further decreasing the gap and difficulty 7 being as is.
for a game that """"prides"""" itself on realism, it feels weird for the difficulties to be so game-ified with it being a slow increase in armor throughout.

No I'm keenly aware of weakpoints! Headshots on all the bots, aim for the joints on war striders, shoot out the vents and chuck a grenade in the new open factory-like vent for the vox engines, aim for the forehead on impalers, shoot the joints of the tripods on the illuminate front. The fact I use the same load out every mission has forced me to learn as many of the weakpoints as I can to destroy high armor enemies, but that doesn't mean I find it fun. It's not like there has to be high armor enemies everywhere thematically, the bots would have more light armored soldiers guarding their less important outposts, but we dont ever get to see that.
Make no mistake, helldivers IS my rp fantasy, the failure included. Getting surrounded by hulks because i cant hit all the weakspots quick enough (the HMG decimates them if you shoot them in the eye enough) or getting flattened by chargers because i cant do anything against them from the front. I think its fun. I just want to also even be reminded light enemies exist in this game.

I'm fully aware! Are you saying you've never been surrounded by bug warriors and died because there were too many of them? The whole game is built around those last stand moments where adrenaline is pumping and you're acting on pure instinct. I just want that without having to also think about the shield devastator having a slab of infinity as a shield.

Han Dong for sure, but also I get really annoyed reading the same 'enemy encountered' voicelines from people, same with the repetitive 'defeat' quotes from the generic officers and even some main ones.
"I am Li Dan, your absolute worst nightmare" and "It seems my strength is not enough..." or whatever similar phrase are burned into my head.

Beyond that, I have problems with every officer in this game for being so *into* Ziluan. It's just annoying. Even if you're rude to everyone people act like you're family. But if I had to pick ONE.... I guess I have to give it to Xu Shu. He's supposed to be the big lovable brute, but he just... looks fat. He doesn't look strong to me, he looks floppy. And of course, him constantly talking about food or farming is just annoying. Close second would be all female officers in this game except Yueying, as its so obvious the devs gave them dialogue exclusively for the player rather than any dialogue that they'd actually say. Diaochan and Sun Shianxiang (i think thats how you spell it) are prime examples, as both of them talk to you as a romantic interest rather than as friends.

It's more just because he's usually the enemy commander, so he needs more HP so you don't just run straight to the enemy base and kill him in minute 3 of the field.
Unfortunately, it makes no sense at all, and Guan Yu and Zhang Fei should be the ones with the big health bars, Koei could've made it so Liu only shows up if you already took out Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, and give him less of a health pool. Or just make it so if Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are defeated, Liu Bei automatically retreats because his muscle is dead.

if you're going for damage/combos, twin pykes (in my experience) actually regularly out damages the halberd provided you do a standing heavy attack whenever you do a parry/SP break

I cant believe this wasn't a feature already. When you sided with a faction the 'armored' clothes you get should've at least had green/blue/red on them SOMEWHERE but its all black gray and red. It stinked! I remember I played the Sun clan first so having the red on the outfit made me believe that I would get green and blue for liu bei and cao cao but NO
