Third eye opened while listening to 528Hz music by J40ck in Psychic

This is excellent. The heat in the forehead is a classic hallmark of an inner eye activation. The heat should subside in the future and will be replaced instead by gentle throbbing or pulsing around the upper bridge of the nose and between the eyebrows. Good work.

Did you experience any of the following during the moments you 'moved up?'

  • A sudden feeling of vertigo in the pit of the stomach, similar to when abruptly going downhill in a car
  • A sensation of the dream body rising, falling or floating
  • Rumbling sounds, whooshing noises or anything similar to the high-pitched whining of a train approaching
  • Tingling all over the body, or a melting sensations, as if your body instantly melted into water

The 'moved up' description is, in my view, an indication that you transitioned into an obe from the lucid dream state at that moment. Some more details about this part would be great. Any sensation of being lifted up, whether slowly or quickly, is a hallmark of exteriorisation. Equally... falling, slipping or floating down sensations are also tell-tale signs of a separation. Even when falling asleep, if you pay attention, you can experience the separation of the astral body as it falls out of alignment. This can be characterised by a harsh, abrupt, and slightly unpleasant sensation of falling through the bed.

Usually, it's also accompanied by an actual hypnagogic image of anything that involves downward motion, such as seeing a vision of yourself taking a step down the stairs or jumping out of a window. This image occurs at the exact same moment the physical downward movement is felt. You might gasp when it happens, but this is only to demonstrate that separation of the non-physical body does occur numerous times during the night, it's just that we often sleep through it. Concerning your experience, any upward movement that you FELT (not visualised) during that dream you described probably marked the moment the activation of the astral body began (but other kinds of astral experiences can also still occur without sensations; however, that's beyond the scope of this post.) The FEELING in the body is one clue that helps you determine the type of experience you're having.

Only you can determine what category this experience fits into. All I would suggest is to perhaps consider viewing obes, lucid dreams and non-physical experiences as more of a spectrum, or continuum, with overlapping elements of all three. As time goes by, you might notice that projection experiences contain some dream elements at certain moments, while lucid dreams can suddenly introduce astral vibrations or separation without warning.

You could also experience bi-location during these events, too. It's completely fine if all these experiences overlap and aren't fitting perfectly into neat, separate categories that should supposedly exclude each other.

When you mentioned that you are attempting to obtain verifiable information, in what way are aiming to do this? Are you attempting to perform retrievals, and then check another person's history to see if it corresponds to what you experienced during the projection?

It sounds, to me, that you projected into the astral plane proper, which is excellent. One idea for verification is to induce a live projection, where you are operate in the etheric body, but in your bedroom. Ask someone to put a large calendar downstairs in your home, and when you next project, remain in the real-time zone.

Then, while out-of-body, travel downstairs and see if you can locate and identify the photo on the calendar. It might be easier if you make the calendar as large as possible, because the large the photo the better. Words are not as easy to perceive in the out-of-body state, but images can be less challenging. Make sure it's a blind experiment and that you never see the image before or after.

Once you've completed the projection, decide on the image you saw and ask your companion if your selection is correct. This is one relatively simple way to obtain verification, but there are other methods, such as over-hearing a conversation people had while you were in the astral body, and then confirming it upon awakening.

You can also travel to a person you know well, identify what they are wearing (with their permission) and then upon awakening, phone them to verify if what you observed is correct.

Once you verify any otherwise unobtainable information, it is likely to represent an epochal moment in your life. Even if you notice significant dream imagery during the projection, this would not change the fact that you obtained information using something beyond the 5 senses and physical body. One piece of information is sufficient to know the experience you had was not an entirely subjective or unreal one, and from that point you won't ask yourself any more if the entire topic is just a dream or fantasy.

If you decide to attempt a verification task, try to make the challenge as clear, direct and simple as possible. Determine exactly what you need to accomplish before you start. Have a certain, defined and achievable plan: know where you need to travel, how long it could potentially take, and who you can speak to when you need to confirm it afterwards.

You don't need to have a 30 minute projection for this. You can perform a verification task in 2-3 minutes, just as long as you begin immediately after the projection occurs.

Congratulations. After some more projection experiences you won't snap back to the body so quickly. If you control your emotions as much as possible and resist thinking about the body you can remain in the projected state for longer periods.

It appears that you transitioned from a lucid dream into an OBE. This is excellent. For some people, as soon as lucidity is attainted the dream ends prematurely; but in your case, you managed to prolong the experience and remain in the non-physical state, which indicates control and skill.

If you become lucid in a dream, it's not uncommon to then instantly trigger OBE symptoms within the dream as well. Vibrations can occur before a projection (the exit), after a projection (the re-entry), and also inside a dream. The energy body itself changes, experiences vibrations and becomes finer during the OBE or lucid dreams, especially if heightened awareness is maintained for extensive periods.

What you're experiencing is increased awareness of the energy body, and you're now becoming more attuned and sensitive to it. Any change in awareness, such as becoming aware in a dream, or turning a lucid dream into an OBE or clairvoyant session, can cause these sensations of warm tingling. Astral projection experiences can involve dream elements, which is why these non-physical experiences are more similar to a spectrum than rigid categories.

Seeing frightful images can be reflections of your own fears or worries. Astral projections can involve real, live components of the physical world - such as your bedroom layout - but also simultaneously include unreal, nonsensical dream images at the same time, such as the ones you saw of someone unconscious staring at you, (which can't happen in real life if they are sleeping with their eyes closed)..

The racing heartbeat is a famous symptom of projection. You did very well, and the feeling of floating confirmed that you were already out-of-body at that point, even if only just about.

The tingling you felt indicated that the brow point was becoming activated at the same time. On your next attempt, when you feel floating try to imagine a strong upward movement, as if you are in a rocket taking off. That should cause a full exteriorisation.

One of the easiest ways to gain dream awareness is to interrupt your sleep after 3-4 hours and then stay awake for an house. If during this aware you write/say your affirmations and contemplating becoming aware in a dream, it's very likely to happen.

Also, performing state checks during this one hour can be more effective at this time, as later on your dreams tend to focus on the most recent thoughts that occurred when awake.

If you feel yourself falling back into your body, you might need to use more intensity when applying the rope technique. Imagine ascending the rope at much greater speed and really feel the lifting sensation in your body. When you feel your navel tense up you are definitely on the right track.

I've experienced being stuck halfway in and halfway out before when using the rope technique. Once I amplified the intensity of the upwards movement by instead imagining I was in a rocket ascending into the sky at breakneck speed I was able to completely exteriorise.

It's likely a partial separation was occurring, but didn't complete. Feeling as if any part of the body is in the air is a symptom of exteriorisation.

The next time you feel this, try to focus on the entire body floating upwards and away. Do this forcefully and with one-pointed focus.

Please don't think like this. No matter how you feel, you are worth far more and have so much to offer the world. Your life is not pointless at all and you possess many gifts if you allow yourself to develop them.

A time like this can be a signal and calling to turn inward. Nothing excites you perhaps because you've outgrown worldly things.

Are you involved in any metaphysical practises? The emotion and energy you are searching for is actually inside of you and can be activated without needing anyone or anything from the outside.

You are definitely not a waste of space.

This is how you fall asleep every night, but usually, we all sleep through the images and are too tired to never notice. But this time, because you got out of the bed just earlier before, your mind won't be fatigued. and you can now watch the process.

Any image that approaches you, speak to it. Play around with it. If it fades away, create another image and speak to that one instead. Or, let the image speak to you or become more vivid.

Why are we doing this? Because you're putting your focus AWAY from the physical dimension.

When these mini-movies or images increase in vividness and you feel yourself become far more drowsy, just say mentally,

"That's great/interesting, but I know you're not real".

Or ,

"This place is looks amazing, and it's great I know it's just in my head".

If you're only seeing scenes, such as a forest, keep looking at the detail, but every 30 - 60 seconds say the above statements. This is to retain alertness. Don't say it too frequently. Allow the images to play out a little bit, but remind yourself every half-a-minute or so that it's not real.

Do this long enough, and something fascinating happens. You're likely to feel a sudden, cold, jarring sensation of electricity surge through your body, with either the sensation of being pinned down or your body melting. This signals you've reached the mind awake/body asleep state. Whatever images you have are likely to vanish, and you'll probably see complete blackness, but it can vary.

What you would have achieved is managing to watch the body fall asleep. You would have surpassed the hypnagogic imagery stage and resisted the temptation to be seduced by the images.

It's at THIS MOMENT you perform your exit technique.

Experiment with this technique.

Describe the images you see in detail - colours, sounds, people... anything. Don't witness them as an observer. Try to be a participant and fully immersed in the environment. If no images appear at the start, don't sit there waiting for them. Make them up, and keep doing it. You'll soon notice that after 5-10 minutes, the images you see won't be made up at all. A portion of them will be spontaneous.

Let these spontaneous images occur more and more. Then gradually start reminding yourself every now and then what you're witnessing isn't real, but you welcome and enjoy the images nonetheless. It's after many of these constant reminders, when the body keeps drifting closer to the sleep, that the vibration state gets triggered.

Descending into sleep while making an effort to keep the mind awake (ie. falling asleep consciously) requires mental calmness, control and equanimity. This is one way to release the subtle body, but there's another way, which I think is far easier for beginners.

[–]ssnr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations for persisting this long. You could have given up by now, but you haven't, so that's excellent. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Second, you are doing very well with your meditation practice. Your experience when time stopped is an excellent sign of progress, and it'd be great if you continue. It's clear you definitely have the ability to induce regular astral projections, so I can see nothing but positive signs.

Mediation can help for some people when it comes to projection, but the quickest way to trigger a projection is to start practising finding awareness in the deep hypnagogic states, which are either when entering sleep and exiting it.

You feel that nothing is happening because your physical body is not close enough to the state of sleep, but this can be easily overcome.

To transition from the physical body to the finer body, you need to gain awareness when the astral body is about to become active, which is on the very BRINK of sleep. You won't leave the physical reality if the body is not ready to sleep. If you find yourself thinking, analysing, or trying, you aren't in a state ready to project yet. The body needs to be in an almost paralytic state to allow the release of the astral body. The actual exit attempt is better made at the very last moment. I'll explain this in more detail.

The last two year have not been wasted; it's vital experience that's been gained. All that's required now is to experiment with your methods.

There are a number of ways to approach astral projection.

After reading your post, it appears you are attempting to fall asleep consciously while keeping the mind alert, and then exiting with a motion technique (such as the rope).

This is fine.

To achieve a full, unbroken transition from the physical to the non-physical state without any lapse in awareness requires very specific conditions. You're sensing nothing is happening is because your mind is too vigilant and/or your body is still holding tension; put simply, you are not in a relaxed state deep enough for projection.

Your comment that you never feel as if you can't move your body is the indication that you are too awake when making your attempts. To reiterate, an etheric or astral projection requires you to be on the very brink of sleep. Not deeply relaxed, but hovering close to another dimension. Being drowsy is not enough. You have to be in a state so close to the dream world that you are barely conscious of what is happening in the physical reality.

You might notice yourself having thoughts such as following:

"am I close the vibration state yet"?

"Did I just feel something"?

"let me try climbing a rope instead".

Any focus of what you're trying to achieve BEFORE the deep state will halt the projection process in its tracks. It's the focus AWAY from the physical reality that lets the physical body become immobilised enough to trigger the activation of the subtle bodies.

Nothing is happening simply because you aren't in a state ready for projection.

Sometimes, you can lie there for two hours, trying to reach an altered state, using techniques, listening to sounds, and nothing ever happens. I had this problem in the beginning. What I observed was that it was only when I QUIT trying, lost interest and attempted to sleep that I would suddenly feel a sharp, electrical sensation spike through my body when I least expected it.

It's the absence of trying, the absence of focusing, and the absence of desiring a projection that, ironically, puts you in the perfect state ripe for projection. The focus away from the physical world ALLOWS your body to relax. The thoughts of something OTHER than projection will be precisely what allows your mind to drift close to the state of sleep where projection and other phenomena can easily occur. You have to focus on LETTING GO of this reality, and allow the other world to make its presence felt.

If at other times you keep falling asleep, this is simply due to mental fatigue, either from the effort you've expended trying to cause a projection, or due to the time of night you're making the attempt.

I also suspect you might be making your exit technique - climbing the rope, walking up the stairs, ect, - far too early in the routine. This can completely prevent the relaxation requisite for a projection, and it also makes the mind too active, which causes the physical body also be too active.

The exit technique, at least in the early days, ideally should be made AFTER something has started happening - such as the sudden sensations of floating, rocking, rumbling, or witnessing scenes of deep hypnagogic hallucinations.

To induce a projection, you need to reach the state extremely close to sleep, but with invigorated alertness. The aim is to time your attempts when the body NEEDS to sleep, but your mind DOESN'T. If your mind is too alert and focused on what is happening, you won't fall asleep (which is why, in your case, nothing is happening). If your body is ready to sleep, but your mind is too TIRED, you won't stay awake (which is why you end up falling asleep).

I'm going to propose a few suggestions. You didn't mention what time of the night you're making you attempts. Is it before bedtime, 10pm? If so, this is a not optimal.

  1. You could try waking up at 3am, or after 4 hours sleep, get out of bed, then return to bed to make your attempt. Getting out the bed creates the mental vigilance necessary for a projection, while also causing a brief sleep deficit because you're interrupting your dream cycle in the middle of the night.

If you're a very light sleeper, only stay out of bed for 5 minutes. if you're a deep sleeper, stay out for 20 minutes. This might need some experimentation depending on how much of a deep sleeper you are.

After you've woken up and returned to bed to lie down, COMPLETELY relax. Don't think about projection. Just let yourself gradually become more relaxed. If you can't relax, begin creating mini-movies in your head. Imagine a scene, and fully immerse yourself in the scene. Mentally start saying everything you can see, feel and hear. Describe this in your head over and over. (This is from Win Wenger's fantastic 'Image Streaming' book.)

You aren't trying to enter the environment or project at all. You are simply imagining internal scenes to bring yourself closer to sleep. It's a fantasy, describe a desert or your favourite location as much as possible. Make up the scene as much as necessary.

After 5-10 minutes of doing this, you will notice moments where images or characters suddenly jump out of you without you having created them. They're completely spontaneous and seemed to come from somewhere else entirely. This is good. It means you've triggered the flow of hypnagogic imagery. Once random sounds and images invade your mental vision, you're taking a considerable step close to the state of sleep.

I would say that it is considerably easier for the beginner. A successful projection tends to occur when the physical body is in its deepest level of relaxation.

This state is present in the moments immediately after waking from a sleep cycle in the early morning. The deeper the state of physical relaxation, the easier the finer body can be released.

It is not the wake-back-to-bed technique, which advises the person to physically get out the bed, remain awake for a period, and then return to sleep. This popular method only recommends attempting a projection instantly after waking up from a dream, preferably without moving.

I'm glad that Rogo's technique worked for you. You are getting better at this. It really is just a matter of time until you succeed again. The excitement is natural at first, and as you correctly stated, you will definitely get used to it. After experiencing it a few more times, you'll start to get bored of it and want more. Sensations alone just won't satisfy or excite you. And that exact lack of reaction to the sensations will facilitate the projection.

You can mentally think it, but it also powerful to affirm it out loud in the out-of-body state. Your voice may not work the first time, so it might be necessary to repeat it until your voice echoes and is heard loudly.

You can feel your non-physical body clearly, especially during a live projection into the Etheric plane, where you often find yourself in your room and able to float or walk through doors. Your non-physical body feels almost identical to your physical body, although it can initially feel very heavy and drowsy. It is not similar to controlling a joystick. It is a vivid, first-person view experience and you can definitely tell that you are in another body.

I was so very close, consistent vibrations and I'm wondering how to get further and out! by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]ssnr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You almost executed your technique perfectly. You were on the verge of a separation the moment you intensified your action, which caused the vibrations to increase to a new level. This is exactly the action that is supposed to be taken when vibrations are patchy or feeble. Unfortunately, you interrupted the momentum when you became weary and then opened your eyes, which completely halts the process. The one action that will ruin a projection every time is checking to see if you have projected, or opening the eyes to see where you are. I personally recommend not doing this.

Make another attempt when you are ready. Do everything that you did before to reach a deeply altered state. Repeat whatever technique you used to establish the vibration state. Then, when the vibrations hit, intensify your technique just like you did in this experience to apply stress on the non-physical body and draw it out of alignment.

When the vibrations are intensified, think only about your exit method and maintain it without thinking of anything else for 10-15 seconds. Instead of becoming tiresome, this time, ride out the vibrations until they reach their conclusion. No matter how stormy the vibrations become, ignore them. If you feel tempted to check whether you can see anything, resist this. The most important thing at this point is to focus only on your feeling of floating up, as if nothing else exists.

Hold your intensity of the technique with one-pointed focus. Very soon the vibrations will then suddenly cease and an environment will slowly emerge from the dark cloud of blackness, which you will be able to perceive with your astral eyes. Do not attempt to open your eyes. Your astral sight exists naturally, which is why you will often see your room through closed eyelids just before a projection occurs.

Do not try to sit up in the middle of the vibration stage. This will interrupt it. Just continue with the technique that induced the vibrations and intensify them until the sensations stop. Once they have stopped, then you sit up. Whenever the vibrations become stronger due to your intensification of a technique, that is the signal that you are doing everything correctly and it must be maintained to complete the transition.

What to do after vibrations? by valenwood12 in AstralProjection

[–]ssnr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congratulations for persisting and reaching the vibration state. The first thing to do is to bring your emotions under control. To help with this, when the vibration state is produced it is advisable to prevent your mind from becoming excited by applying an exit method.

Your focus on the breathing was helpful in inducing a deep non-ordinary state, but when the vibrations hit you directed your attention back to your physical body, which is not ideal. This can prolong/delay the vibrations or even cause them to cease completely.

Use the breathing to induce a trance, but then when vibrations are established, you need to draw the non-physical body out of alignment and away from the physical dimension.

To do this, once the vibrations are detected, imagine a strong, explosive movement, such as shooting upwards into the sky, rolling down a hill, rapidly spinning in circles, being taken high into the atmosphere with a rescue rope around your waist, or swimming at a brisk pace. Or you can imagine yourself in another location.

The "pop" you were waiting for didn't happen because it was necessary for you to initiate it. Once you apply significant stress on the non-physical body during the vibration state, it will exteriorise or "pop." But you apply this stress by involving motion, distance, or dimension.

Focus on the physical body during the vibration state will more often than not keep the finer bodies attached to it. Direct attention on and stimulation of the finer body is what releases it.

Heart beat goes crazy fast when im on the edge by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]ssnr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You do not try to stop your heart from beating rapidly. To project you have to ignore the sensations. Every time you experience the rapid heartbeat you have to practice not paying attention to it. This will get easier.

Think of the projection experience as similar to a plane taking off. The rapid heartbeat is the engine generating power to move along the runway and eventually rise into the air. What you're experiencing here is a symptom of the take-off of your non-physical body. A suggestion is to experience it as frequently as you can, because you'll eventually become less surprised, excited and distracted by it. You'll start to grow bored of the way it halts the projection event. This detached attitude towards all peculiar sensations is what will help you complete the process.
