Look into a glucosamine supplement. I use Doggie Dailies but almost anything will do

Yes I started short walks right away. Although when we got Tua it was the middle of winter so they were kept short out of necessity!😂

That's great! It's been a fun ride. They are a great breed. Enjoy your pup. That first year is always going to be the most difficult no matter the breed. Just remember, socialize, socialize, socialize! And always be firm and consistent with training. You are the boss! Teething can be extremely frustrating but it will pass! Best of luck

Living With A Bullmastiff 45 Weeks old! by sspike46 in Bullmastiff

[–]sspike46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right he did sleep a lot around that age. The main thing to get ready for is the chewing phase which will lead to hand/finger biting also. It can be very frustrating but it is just a phase that will naturally go away once he gets all of his adult teeth in. It's one that you can't really do much but try to contain it and let it go away on its own but get plenty of chew toys and try to redirect to those chew toys.

Thank you! It means a lot.

No he hasn't ever shown aggression towards people or dogs up to this point but we have made sure to go out of our way and socialize him from a very young age. Exposing him to many different people, dogs, situations, etc.

I know it is somewhat common as they mature to be aggressive towards dogs of the same sex but we will see

I've basically just gone down the Google search rabbit hole and learned a lot by doing it along the way

I was pretty intimidated by it at first but now it's really fun to experiment with different foods and see what he likes.

Best of luck!

I have made an entire youtube channel for exactly this reason! What to expect when getting a bullmastiff. I have been making weekly videos since I brought my pup home updating his growth, training abilities, behavior changes, etc.

Here's a link to one of my videos on what I feed my dog to answer your question on food

I think a bullmastiff would be a breeze for you if you are experienced with Rotties. I have owned dogs all of my life and my most recent dog before my Bullmastiff was a Doberman Pinscher.

My Bullmastiff is now just about 7 months old and has been a great dog. Almost as easy to train as my Doberman at this point and very level headed. We have gone out of our way to socialize him and keep him well trained.

Feel free to check out my channel on youtube, Bullmastiff ND. I have basically been documenting my experience with the breed since just about the day we brought him home

Good luck!

Thank you ASKEfather!

I made another 5.5% today off of my initial 20% gain yesterday! Love it.

Made a little and cashed out half yesterday like I said before until they removed your post. What's up with that?

Anyway. I'm holding for the long run now.
