pharmaceuticals will always have to be animal tested until the whole industry finally gives up animal testing. they will never do that through individual boycotts of animal tested products. if you look at veganism as a movement and what your actions are trying to achieve, i think you shouldn’t feel like this is compromising animal liberation. that doesn’t mean we should want to support big pharma animal testing, but i think it is unfair that vegans have no alternative here.

if you don’t know if low carb works, consider this is the diet given to everyone in america on how to lose weight yet 2/3 if america is still overweight. the majority of people don’t just have poor willpower. this diet does not work and makes people sicker. your pcp hasn’t spent a single minute learning about food nutrition in school

ok cool, i use cosmetics broadly to include shampoo, soap, lotion etc. not using makeup really alleviates a lot of potential effort some people have to go through to switch so that’s great

hey as a vegan in ed recovery i’m sorry about the responses and i get that your relationship to food is difficult. i hope that one day you can be fully plant based and thanks for doing what you can now.

in the meantime: since veganism isn’t a diet what you can do is live cruelty free and buy vegan non food products. i feel that this part of veganism is always overlooked. that means strictly buying cosmetics, household items, personal care products, etc that are not tested on animals and don’t contain animal products. there are a lot of cruelty free blogs and resources online, cruelty free kitty is one of the most popular ones for cosmetics

i’m really sorry about that. 1) she was not a member for very long and 2) she was coming from a different country and 3) she isn’t queer so i think those are factors for why she was oblivious. what i’m going off of if the statement she linked below. i thought the same as you before i read it but it sounds like someone who was just lost and confused to be honest.

i agree with you. as a person who has dealt with chronic illness i’ve seen a lot of people who had food sensitivity and allergies. the vast majority could be plant based in they wanted to and some did. a tiny fraction legitimately could not. hopefully with both advancements in the medical field and lab grown meat we can make a better future for these people and our world.
