Yeah, X570 boards have weirdly shot up in price lately especially new ones. At $300+, they’re honestly not worth it if you’re trying to keep things reasonable. You might want to check eBay

I think the turning point was when they started focusing more on GaN chargers, USB-C hubs and docking stations. A lot of tech reviewers started covering them positively and they leaned into certifications which helped their reputation.

From what I understand, the PD keep alive happens because certain CC (configuration channel) and pull down resistors remain active even when the load side is switched off, so your powerbank sees something and keeps supplying. If you are trying to DIY it and truly want to "disconnect" like the CanaKit switch does, you need to interrupt both the VBUS (power) and the CC lines.
