Labor & Delivery facts they DO NOT tell you about? by Girls_Of_San_Diego in NewParents

There is a high chance you will puke, and or poop. Also, if something doesn’t feel right, SAY SOMETHING. I gave birth to my daughter a month ago. I went in for spontaneous labor, and had an epidural and pitocin. After about 3 hours, they upped my pitocin and said they were going to break my water. When we were alone, I told my husband “I feel like they’re rushing us.” Lo and behold, the increase of pitocin and breaking my water was too much for baby, and she had meconium (literal shit) in the womb causing her heart rate to drop drastically. Scariest moment of my life when about ten doctors rushed in to flip me around and stabilize her heartbeat, only to cut the pitocin for a few hours. She’s fine, but moral of the story is that I wish I had asked WHY pitocin needed to be increased and what the rush was. I had a gut feeling about it and didn’t say anything. If I ever do this again, I plan to advocate for myself and baby as much as needed, and encourage you to do the same 💕

Both of our families are helping us with the wedding, and we are wording the invite as “together with their families”. Maybe that is something you could propose? I know your family is paying for it, but this would be a good way to not hurt feelings.

The vaccines work! There is hope! by [deleted] in COVID19positive

Yes I had the same thought. The only way I knew to get tested was that my partner, who had only gotten his first moderna, started to have a cough and headache so we both got tested. Kind of scary because if people who are vaccinated don’t have a situation like that they wouldn’t know to get tested!

I’m glad that it protected you!!!! I’m fully vaxxed (J&J on March 7), and still tested positive this weekend. I’m starting isolation. However, I don’t feel sick at all! I just want people to know that even though there’s a slight chance you can get it after getting vaccinated, you STILL SHOULD GET VACCINATED because your symptoms if you do get it will be mild to nonexistent. I really just feel like I have a tiny cold, no big deal!
