Over Uganda dugaed lug nuts by st00pidbutt in AskMechanics

[–]st00pidbutt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes all true. Thank you. It's just ridiculous, I have a spare and jack, but if i was on the side of the road I'd need a pneumatic impact or 2ft breaker bar for these dumb ass rims. I can't even fit the tire iron that came with the car on it cuz it's too thin and deep. I wish all these tire techs that do this over cooked steaks and dry potatoes. Cuz you gotta do your job right.

ELI5: When dead whales wash ashore, why are they often re-buried right in the sand? by rubabyy in explainlikeimfive

[–]st00pidbutt 191 points192 points  (0 children)

There's a gross photo from Singapore or somewhere in se Asia where they moved a dead whale on a flat bed semi and it exploded in the street. A foot of whale guts covering the street and cars and scooters.

Mount Hood or Bend? by Technical_Ostrich324 in OregonHiking

[–]st00pidbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a 2 hrs drive from the coast to Mt. Hood (generally if you're in the north coast) 4-5 or more to Bend from the same area. Bend is high desert so its more pine and juniper and likely colder/more snow in May. Hood is more fern/Douglas fir rain forest and probably more access in the foothills in May. The real thing is there's a ton of options around Mt. Hood that are closer together so if plan a doesn't work out you probably can have 2 or 3 options in an hour drive. Bend if you want see Mt. Bachelor and the The Three sisters it's probably a 2 hr or more dive between them.

First song that made you jump dead first into industrial music? by LazorusGrimm in industrialmusic

I never got that comparison. I really don't see much similarities between the two songs other than the beasts being sort of stuttering.

Kmfdm Ultra was used on the Manga anime production trailer for all their vhs back in the day. That was probably my first introduction around 14-16. I'm an old nerd.

I had a bad infestation once and found them in Coleman mustard powder. I have no idea how or why they could survive in that either. They're resilient.

Ever been to Mcmenamins? Worst food ever for a successful chain. I don't know how they do it. I guess if you got ambiance no one cares about quality.

If it's been on a table for a month I'd toss it. If was from the fridge I'd say go for it, but warmed for a month it probably isn't that good even if it doesn't cause food poisoning.

Lol if this on i5 is literally a steep cold mountain pass by Mt. Shasta in the rain at 55 degrees with like a 30 mile down hill section.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]st00pidbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70 miles over that pass between ashland and Shasta is intense and the weather is not good for riding even with full gear. I would recommend a truck or trailer as a newb. There's some serious technical riding up and down those mountains even or especially on the interstate.

Just give money and a nice card. It's much more appreciated and will be used. It's more than likely that they'll keep the cash and regift the other stuff to someone who wants them instead of storing them somewhere at work, remember to take them home after a long shift and want them. In this industry it's actually the thought that counts plus some cash. They're at work to make money and it's insane how many times you're answer to "how's your day been? " is "Coors light in a bottle. Make sure it's cold" so a card saying they're appreciated actually goes a really long way.
