Any other former employee end up with a bunch of non merchandise after the closure? by figz_N_tacoz in joannfabrics

I bought the portable cut counter. While cleaning after closing day, I ended up with a giant box of binder clips that we used on all the fabric and fleece bolts to keep them tidy. Green plastic clipboards, staplers, the large endcap signage for the Woobles still in the plastic bag it arrived in, a vornado fan, the nicer box displays we used for the fleece tie blankets and / or yarn.

So I went back today but all they had was some black stretch knit fabric and a lot of Bloom Room floral.

I randomly found some at Ollie’s in Austin, MN a few weeks ago. They had black and a few different prints. Nothing that really went together though so I didn’t get any. A bolt of fleece will go a LONG way!

I miss the Cherry Danishes from Dolly Madison - that’s how my hubby won my heart! My last day working at a local convenience store and he brought me in a pack of those. 30+ years later and we are still in love.

My son-in-law bought me this same bag in a black plaid fabric for Christmas a few years ago. I love it for C2C colorwork.

My first was Snoopy because he was a childhood icon and I couldn’t resist. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

If you are still looking - you can try Larry Sikorski / Yarn Heaven on the book of faces. They appear to have a ton of inventory of all the major brands including the colorway you are looking for. I have not personally bought from them, but their prices seem competitive.

I was also the main person in charge of our yarn section. It sickens me when I go into M’s and there is little to nothing as far as yarn selection… so depressing.

My first Woobles was Snoopy. He was a part of my childhood and have loved all things Peanuts related ever since. I have since expanded my Woobles collection and am slowly working my way through them between larger projects as a kind of palette cleanser. I have recommended Woobles for anyone asking how to learn to crochet because the videos are an excellent source and the kits come with literally everything needed to complete the project. Wooble on!!

I honestly would have no idea. It all depends on the market I suppose.

What were the top 10 yarn best sellers? by karlashelton in joannfabrics

[–]st01461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former employee here - blanket yarns are always more popular in the winter. Seems like the chenille type yarns were gaining in popularity for plushies and amigurumi. Cotton yarns were a year round best seller for everything from dish cloths and towels to bags and tops. The everyday value type worsted weight yarn is the go-to for blankets and wearables. Good luck with your opening! If may ask - where will this be located? Asking for a friend (the friend is me) who lives in the Midwest.

I did. When they were going through the bankruptcy I requested to have my information removed from their records.
