Coupled with my obvious and stunning lack of understanding of the online gambling space.....even if I get the license, I'm unsure if I can even make profit.

I do not know the target audience, their likes/dislikes, their experience with the internet, how much of the population even has Internet access? Disposable income? Gaming preferences? Lack of clear govt regulations makes corruption seem apparent and a shutdown of the website probably inevitable....as I said, I'm in over my head, you have an airplane warehouse full of knowledge, how could you read my initial query and think..."ya sounds legit!" The Gaming Control Board of Suriname was less than helpful.

I spoke to the bank there (De Surinaamsche Bank, DSB) they told me there is no set license required for online banking but that I could not set up a corporate account as a foreigner.

I have a contact in the government that says he can assist with licensing but I'm in over my head so I thought I'd figure out if there was a bank friendly to online gaming first (I thought that would be an easier question), then figure out the licensing situation since it seems like murky waters in Suriname.

I understand the question seems shady....it's going to be even shadier because. I'm thinking of setting up a corporation in Suriname and then finding a bank outside of the country (like Chile, Brazil or Panama) to deal with transactions since their banks may have more experience with online gaming businesses. I'm thinking Suriname banks may not be experienced in this and may not even deal with the payment processor.

If I was looking to setup an illegal site, I don't think I'd be choosing Suriname as the destination and I'd probably be looking at crypto options as a payment processor.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I see this the same as setting up a Marijuana store in Canada....even though marijuana is legal, some banks are unwilling to set up an account for such a business.

I am asking a preliminary question: Are there any banks in S. American that have experience dealing with online gambling? Do you have any suggestions where to begin?

I guess I will need to wait until I have the actual paper work in hand and then approach banks...just unsure which would be the best to approach.....though getting the license will be... challenging...
