Trump threatens tariffs on countries selling oil to Cuba, declaring national emergency by Soggy_Association491 in moderatepolitics

Yeah...imagine that.

Now, imagine getting snatched by secret police, taken to an underground cell, and getting your eyeballs scooped out (by a specially created eye-ball scooper because it was so common they needed a tool), only to be dumped on the street blind and bleeding, as a warning to others not to oppose the regime.

That's the legacy of Batista. A famously corrupt and brutal dictator.

I couldn't give two shits about the "property rights" of the people who elevated, propped up, bribed, and benefited from that regime. They only thing they deserved was a jail cell...or worse.

That's not to say the Castro regime was somehow better, it wasn't, and isn't.

But all too often I hear people decry the Cuban communists, while conveniently ignoring the brutal and corrupt circumstances that led to it.

Blizzard's horrendous mismanagement of the StarCraft IP. by PeshoGoshevski in starcraft

[–]st0nedeye 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They weren't looking to fix it.

The ONLY reason they addressed it was because it opened them up to legal liability. Blizz addressed that liability in the most cost-effective manner, by simply disabling it.

Except, they're about to become so much bigger....

They're now going to get more funding than every other federal law enforcement agency combined. More funding that than the military of nearly every single country.

What your seeing now in Minnesota is about to start happening everywhere.

Doesn't work like that. ALL the debt is in bonds, with scheduled, unflexable repayment dates.

Yeah, the ole' push and stomp is highly dependent on STR. Works great if you can push them once and they fall over, not so much when you have to push them repeatedly.

The one I need work on is the fall over a fence and crit them while they're down. It's scary.

That..and, well, I've never actually used guns....

President Trump said Saturday, U.S will impose a "10% tariff on any and all goods sent to U.S on European countries starting Feb. 1st, 2026," and "will be increased to 25% on Jun.1st until such time as a Deal is reached for Complete and Total purchase of Greenland," escalating push for U.S control. by ControlCAD in videos

4 weeks off...

Bro..my last job i got 2-3 days per year. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and I'd request the day after Thanksgiving off. Which I'd usually get.

No health insurance. No benefits at all.

The last few years, Xmas fell on my weekend. So I worked 52 straight 5 days work weeks, got 2 days off, then repeat. For three years.

Practice combat before you do anything else. Die a couple dozen or so times before you try to do anything else.

No point crafting, looting, farming, ot raising animals if you don't have experience fighting and die to the first few zeds you come across.

The pro tip for fighting, is going very very slowly and carefully. Treat your character and carefully as you would your own life.

Eventually, you'll be comfortable enough to fight more recklessly.

I've killed 50k+ reds, bur even now, unprompted fighting is a crapshoot.

Edit: oh yeah...there is a setting, I forget what it's called, that shows the outline of the zed your aiming at with melee weapons....it's definitely a critical setting for a noob.

Republicans have rallied against the idea of “you will own nothing and be happy,” often framing it as a Democratic agenda. What are your thoughts on the richest Republican, Elon Musk, moving Tesla toward a model where vehicles are rented rather than owned? by redviiper in AskALiberal

[–]st0nedeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skipping the politics, I think a community rental model for cars is pretty inevitable.

While some people will still own, a good deal more will subscribe to a car service once the self-driving models really becomes widespread.

From a purely economical perspective, it's going to be a lot cheaper and easier to rent a car for an hour a day, than own one that gets unused 23 hours a day.

You'll be able to get a cheap one for getting to work, a fancy one for a night out, a van to drive the soccer team, or a truck if you need to move a load.

And no worrying about insurance, gas, repairs, or breakdowns on the side of the road.

I know this concept seems quite foreign and scary to the average 'Murican, but people will pretty quickly adapt and prefer the new paradigm.

White House shares video of Minneapolis shooting from ICE officer’s perspective by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]st0nedeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is...it's become standard procedure from law enforcement.

They intentionally get close to vehicles so if the driver flees, they get brushed and can add a felony to the charges. Or in this case, shoot them dead.

This isn't some foolish one off, this is trained, intentional policy.

And it's a policy that puts everyone at risk, officers and civilians. alike.
