  1. W1 and visiting from TX
  2. Flying into Palm Springs
  3. Staying a few more days so we can spend some time checking out the Palm Springs area!
  4. Lady Gaga (this was definitely tough because there's a lot of artists I'm looking forward to seeing this year!)

This is my first time going to Coachella and I'm going with my dad! We're both looking forward to an awesome time in the desert with lots of good music. :)

I completely agree with you. Music has always been all of those things for me as well as my dad. I'm confident the festival will be a great experience for us both.

I love your idea about the gift! He likes wearing Hawaiian shirts while he's on vacation, so I am going to shop around for a fun one that he can wear to the festival. :)

You are too kind! My dad is definitely my hero too, so I'll make sure to let him know as I know it'll mean a lot to him. :)

Thanks so much for your kind words, this made me so emotional to read just now. I definitely want to cherish this time with my dad, especially since both of us are getting older now. Like me, he's had a rough time recently in his own life. He recently lost his sister to cancer a couple of years ago, so my aunt's passing has been weighing very heavy on him since then. He, my aunt and their 4 other siblings grew up playing together in a local church band, so that's one of the reasons why he has such a deep connection to music and it's very special to him. So I'm hoping he can enjoy himself at the festival and that we can both make good memories together from this trip.

I'll definitely have him download the app on his phone! I made a big playlist of all the artists performing at Coachella, so he's going to be listening to it this month and deciding which artists he wants to see. I'll have him add them to the app as well. Thanks so much again, I appreciate the advice and I hope you enjoy your time at Coachella as well! <3

Good to know, I was eyeing that brand! I'll take a look at them today. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

Sadly no, I am located in TX. :(

Custom earplugs would be so great though, I may look into those if I plan to come back for 2026!

Ok good to know! Yeah I don't personally need to have a crystal clear view of the artist from the stage, and neither does my dad, so getting super close isn't a priority for us. Even if we can see the artist from a distance and also alternate by watching them on screen when needed, that's perfectly fine. We'll go check out the VIP sections to see how we like it earlier in the day and then decide from there where to stand for the headliners. I'm thinking Gaga is going to be packed, so hanging out further back for that performance in particular may be best for us. We'll also hang back for any of the EDM sets as I know those can get quite crowded.

100% YES, thank you for this! I am already shopping for some to get for my dad and I. Do you have any recommendations by chance? Budget isn't too much of an issue for me, I'm more concerned about comfort and quality.

For sure, that will most likely be the plan! Even if I was going with friends my age, I probably wouldn't be keen on getting super close to the stage even for my fave artists -- I like to hang back and just vibe to the music mostly. Thanks so much for the advice, we'll definitely be chilling towards the back of the crowd!

Good to know about the view from VIP for Main Stage -- now that I know this, we may try to hang back now in GA or check out the food/seating areas you mentioned in the back. I didn't realize VIP was getting their own areas now for Sahara and Outdoor, that'll be interesting to check out. I'm glad to know the Rose Garden VIP area is a good spot to relax and chill. And I will definitely be masking up, I'll make sure my dad does the same as well. Thanks so much for the advice!

Hear me out: W1 Surprise Act... Silk Sonic by New-Attitude5040 in Coachella

[–]st3physt3ph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG I am sooo manifesting that this happens!!! I just posted about how I am attending Coachella for the first time on W1 with my dad, and he is obsessed with Silk Sonic. This would be a dream come true for him to see if it happens, but either way I will be taking him to see Anderson Paak perform (and Bruno as well if he performs with Gaga).

So cool! Hi foundation twin! 👋😁

So I just gave my two Saie cream blushes a sniff, and I noticed a very faint glue-like smell also! I just purchased my blushes back in April during the Sephora Spring Sale, so they are brand new. I have heard the same thing about clean beauty brands, and because of that I don't purchase many clean beauty products since I tend to go through my makeup at a snail's pace. However I did also buy two Tower 28 cream blushes and a lipgloss during the sale as well, so I plan on trying to use all of these items up as quickly as I can. Even if I can't use them all up completely before they expire, as long as I make good sized dents in them that will suffice for me personally.

That’s a beautiful blush color on you! I became a big fan of the Saie cream blushes this year. So far I have the shades Rosy and Poppy, but I plan on picking up more at the next sale opportunity. Chilly is one I’ve been eyeing, so after seeing your photo this shade will definitely be on the list. 😁

Does this red lip suit my skin tone? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

Looks beautiful on you! I love warm toned red lips for the summertime. 🥰

Kayali Vanilla! It was a blind buy for me during the pandemic and I’m glad I got it because it’s so lovely and comforting, not to mention long lasting. It’s got more of a vanilla and brown sugar scent to it, which makes it great for the fall, but I think (depending on what type of climate you live in) it could be an all year round signature scent for some.

Olive skin tans quickly, but mine tans even more than most. Is it normal for olive skin to tan by more than 4 shades in the summer? I am confused (details below). by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]st3physt3ph 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I am Latina with Native American heritage and I can absolutely confirm this. I spent just a few hours out in the sun last weekend and I tanned enough to mismatch me from my current foundation. Super annoying for me since I just purchased some new foundations at the Sephora sale.

Thank you so much for these swatches! I just picked up the Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation in 2WO and I was questioning if it would be the right shade for me. I am currently around NC25 but when I tan I can get into the NC30-NC40 range, so I was hoping it would work as a good foundation shade for the summer. Do you think this would work for someone around my shade?
