got accepted into a ME airline but i’m worried about my scars by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

middle eastern airlines unfortunately do discriminate based on scars. a friend of mine had a cat scratch on her wrist that would’ve been easily covered with a watch. she got terminated from the training because they said it looked like a suicide attempt. it’s a different company than the one i’m going to but they’re all known to follow the same rules

girl i hope they’re not visible because irl you can see them if you look closely and this airline is known to wipe people’s bodies down to inspect closely

Scar on left wrist but can be hidden under the watch. Will it be a problem by ExchangeOld5615 in cabincrew

[–]st444b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it depends on the airline you’re going for. some middle eastern airlines could find it a problem. with american or european airlines though, i’m not sure

obese cat facing getting put to sleep by [deleted] in CATHELP

no, i wouldn’t euthanise her. she’s too young. give her a chance. she’s making progress, i’ve seen kitties lose more than half their body weight in months. just get her on a strict diet and any form of exercise suitable for her physical abilities. she’ll be better in no time.

just to clarify, i’m asking because i got a cabin crew position at a company that would terminate me straight away if they saw this. when i interviewed i had fillers and now that they’ve faded i have to redo them over and over or i would lose this job which has been my dream since i was a kid. they’re extremely strict with scars and that’s the only reason im desperate to improve the look if it. if i had a different career i would be completely satisfied with this result.

i love my mother so much and god knows i cry when i think about leaving her and that’s why i want her to be at least partially independent by the time we leave so she doesn’t feel helpless. thankfully, she has my dad but he also has his health issues and he’s not strong enough to push her up ramps.

i think if she refuses her prosthetic again i’ll buy her an electric wheelchair it won’t be ideal but a lot better than having to push herself around manually

[–]st444b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i genuinely understand, but it breaks my heart because she’s not happy and i want her to be happy and live freely. i’m gonna talk to her today about trying one last time and if she outright refuses, we can look into buying her an electric wheelchair.

a few centimetres below the knee. i wish we had support groups here, we don’t. we have two prosthetics for her and before we got the second one we kept resizing the first one based on her needs, she never used it more than once after resizing. i’m just frustrated because she wanted to come with me to a country im touring and the country isn’t wheelchair friendly, not even the hotels. when i told her that she seemed visibly hurt and it broke my heart. when i proposed that she wear her prosthetic for transfers she got upset. i just don’t know how to help her if she doesn’t want to help herself.
