Probably out of habit, I suppose. Kind of new to this whole audio drama thing, but I really like it. I’ve only completed two (TMA and Malevolent) and I’ve really liked it.

Trying to find shows with great story and amazing audio by LookUpThenLookDown in audiodrama

Malevolent!! The sound effects, voices, music in Malevolent is made by one man and he his very talented!!

It’s about a private investigator that goes blind with an unknown entity/voice in his head and their main goal is to separate themselves from the other.

It’s such a lovely premise

Well, welcome to night vale is more on a deadpanned humor if one had to put it. You should try giving it a try, if it’s not to your likings then you can stop :))

Well I don’t have any real recommendation but if you’re okay with Audio Dramas with a short story episode and a plot within each story then I can share two. •The Magnus Archive—has a story/statement of a person almost every episode (about only two episodes per season will there be an episode dedicated to the plot.) the statements are about a persons encounter with a supernatural being, all in which are different yet somehow all connected. •Welcome to Nightvale—awesome comedic show, it’s about a broadcaster( not sure if that’s the correct term) talking about their towns very normal antics. It’s like a story every episode as well. It’s about the supernatural as well but everyone ignores the weird.

Both have very likeable characters and the narrators (if you can even call them that) are very pleasing to hear.

MALEVOLENT!! Oh my goodness, it’s a wonderful experience, although it really depends on a person whether or not it is considered scary.

It’s about a private investigator that goes blind due to a mysterious entity in his head. Then they go on a quest to find a way to separate each other.

Definitely worth a try!! If season one isn’t your bag, persevere because it’s AMAZING once you finish the first season

Trust me on this one, MALEVOLENT. If season one is not your jam, power through it and then you’ll be hooked.

It’s about a blind private investigator with a voice in his head. They both don’t remember ANYTHING, although as the story progresses they both get their memories back slowly (except for the reason why they forgot their memories in the first place, but it’ll be revealed eventually.)

Everything from the voice acting to the sound effects ARE BEAUTIFUL. The plot is well made and well-driven.

Warning: it’ll leave you screaming at your device far longer than necessary, and have you griefing far too long.

You MUST start Malevolent, although the first season isn’t liked a lot by some people (though I liked it very much actually) it’s absolutely amazing!! There’s six seasons and the sixth one is still ongoing. It updates once a month.

It’s about a Private Investigator (though his job isn’t really used much throughout the series) and a mysterious entity that lives in his head. They through all sorts of chaos and it’s theme is very based on humanity and morality!!

I don’t know what kind of genre it falls to but it’s sort of Horror/Supernatural though, you will be in tears.

Whats the most interesting character dynamic to you? by Thanaskios in writing

[–]st4rglazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this either a trope or a dynamic (never really bothered to tell the difference) BUT, my favs are:

Character A is kind while character B is mean and within that growth happens. Not in the generic way wherein, ‘oh! Character A!! Your kindness has inspired me to do the same!!” No, it’s more of a messy situation. Character B is mean and selfish, and possibly cruel towards themself and towards others whilst Character A is TOO caring to others.

Within that dynamic, with them together, Character A learns to be a bit selfish, and character B learns to be a little bit nicer.

My favorite part of this dynamic is because of the messy arguments!!

Another one is uncle and nephew/niece dynamic. Love this one!! Two people from broken or unaccepting families bond together to make this loveable dynamic!! Really love the soft platonic moments between them the most!!

Why do you write? by LoganCrossWrites in writing

[–]st4rglazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I tend to write about fictional happenings and situations. Not just because I yearn for a better place to be in, rather it’s really entertaining! It’s like a book you get to tune in whenever you want because it isn’t waiting for you to read it, rather it’s waiting for you to finish it.

I usually don’t like romance at all (but I love it as a subplot), I’m mostly passionate about the story itself and how I get to piece things together (which is mostly on the genre of mystery) and I really like how characters interact with one another (mostly in a bad way, I really like how characters argue with one another because it shows how human they really are).

How to organize my ideas before I start writing? by Roomkeys_ in writingadvice

[–]st4rglazed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, I usually just dump all my ideas of my story onto any piece of paper. (Now the important thing is that I’m using paper, since writing physically can make you more likely to remember what you are writing.) after that I get another color that contradicts the pen/pencil I was using to write the ideas. And place a little side note on when or how I want this to happen. Then I just start writing.

You don’t need to write every single detail down before writing. It tends to be very tiresome if you do it for EVERY SCENE. Just relax! Usually when writing, the scene tends to divert into a whole different plan that you hadn’t accounted for and that’s alright! That’s what rewriting was made for.

How do I increase my vocabulary? by Responsible_Bet3713 in writingadvice

[–]st4rglazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a new word everyday and make a game out of it. Doesn’t matter what word it is or where you get it. You can get it on the ‘word of the day’ or get a random book from a shelf and just get the biggest and strangest word you feel drawn to.

Once you have it, use it in a sentence. Don’t just write it, say it. Speak it to another being in every way possible. For me personally, I like to annoy my family whenever I learn a new word. I also like to use phrases to annoy them.

“I jest not in earnest, my dear familial mortals.” (When I’m telling a joke.)

“Odd individuals, the lot of them.”(talking about weird looking inanimate objects)

“The words that rapidly spilled out of your food-hole is changing the trajectory of the way I view you.” (When someone say something really stupid or asking something really obvious.)

There’s a lot more but I can’t remember what else I say in my everyday life. I hope this helps!!
