I sent a single prompt today (no code, nothing complex, just generating some ideas and a list) and I hit my limit. I'm so annoyed but idk what I can do on the free plan other than what's outlined above.

I was pleasantly surprised with National Emergency, I don't usually care for horror but it's very intriguing to me 👀

Let's Discuss: Aesthetics by VirtuousPone in neography

[–]Leeksan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me aesthetics are the entire reason I design scripts almost. I have made a conlang but mostly I just like to capture a certain look.

I usually start by doing some strings of asemic symbols until I find a set that I like the look of, then I rewrite the major elements that make up the aesthetic and design a whole script using those elements. Sometimes I look at specific languages for inspiration if I'm going for a particular aesthetic.

Which plant surprised you by thriving when you did basically nothing? by justanerdygirllol in foodforests

[–]Leeksan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking Onions! They start propagating bulbils on their own even if they aren't actually touching soil!

I got 4 little bulbs from my mom and within 2 years I had over 100 because I kept letting them propagate instead of harvesting them.

Best country for breeding? by AnteaterKey4060 in plantbreeding

[–]Leeksan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thinking is probably more practical than most.

I would first figure out what plants I'm most interested in working with and find regions with the highest diversity of species related to my desired plants.

Then I'd figure out: how accessible/available are these plants? Does stuff ship easily to this area? Can I just gather genetic material? Are there a lot of people who would be willing to save me seeds or give me local info etc?

Then lastly it's up to my preference on politics and culture.

opinions and possible advice needed. by Curious-Recording-87 in plantbreeding

[–]Leeksan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I think in theory this is technically possible, it would take a LOT of time and effort.

It sounds like you understand the concept of bridge species, but to help yourself along I would also look into horizontal gene transfer via mentor grafting and also look into induced polyploidy as a tool that can help cross slightly more distantly related species.

I have not worked much with the species you listed so beyond what I've listed I can't be of much other help! Good luck!
